Samsung Display has unveiled the world’s first OLED panel with an integrated fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor.

Similar panels, called Sensor OLED, are designed to be used in smartphones and tablets for health monitoring. It is expected that such devices will appear in the near future.

Samsung is showing off the world’s first OLED panel with built-in fingerprint and cardiovascular tracking at SID Display Week 2023, which is taking place this week in Los Angeles, California, USA.

The OLED touch panel has a built-in photosensitive organic photodiode. This means companies don’t need to install a separate fingerprint scanner under the OLED panel, saving money and space inside the device.

The technology will allow fingerprints or heart rate information to be read from multiple fingers at the same time. This allows the device to offer more accurate biometric authentication and blood pressure measurements. The new OLED panel can also measure the user’s stress level at the same time.

To accurately measure a person’s blood pressure, measurements must be taken on both arms. The OLED touch display can simultaneously recognize the fingers of both hands, providing more accurate health information than current wearable devices.

9to5Mac has published exclusive renders of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro smartphones, based on drawings by 3D designer Ian Zelbo.

According to 9to5Mac, in the iPhone 15 lineup, the older model will be the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but next year the word Ultra will be used. As shown in the first drawings, accessed by the publication, the top model of the iPhone 16 will be called the iPhone 16 Ultra. It will have a screen with a diagonal of 6.9 inches, while the dimensions of the case will increase significantly. The smartphone will be taller, but only slightly wider. And this is good, since the same iPhone 14 Pro Max is quite difficult to hold with one hand.

The approximate dimensions of the iPhone 16 Ultra are also given:

• Width: 77.2mm;
• Height: 165.0mm;
• Screen diagonal: 6.9 inches.

And iPhone 15 Pro Max:

• Width: 76.7mm;
• Height: 159.8mm;
• Screen diagonal: 6.7 inches.

So far, several reputable sources have confirmed that the iPhone 16 Pro lineup will include larger displays. Earlier, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and insider Ross Yang reported that the iPhone 16 Pro will receive a 6.3-inch screen. The larger case will also allow Apple to install a periscope module in the iPhone 16 Pro, which will not be in the iPhone 15 Pro this year.

Oppo officially announced today that the Oppo K11x will be released next week on May 31st.

The smartphone will offer a 108-megapixel camera, a screen with support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a 5000 mAh battery and will maintain the highest speed even four years after purchase.

The smartphone will receive a flat screen with a hole for the front camera, and two round camera modules on the back. It is similar to the OnePlus Ace 2V.

The Oppo K11x is expected to feature a 6.72-inch 2400 x 1080 pixel LCD screen, a 16-megapixel front camera, and support for 67-watt charging. It will support memory cards up to 1TB.
