Engineer and designer Guy Dupont has developed smart pants that tell the wearer when their fly is open. A message about this comes to the smartphone.

The system uses a Hall sensor and a powerful magnet. The sensor is located on the inside, and the magnet is on the clasp. It also uses the ESP32 microcontroller, which is placed in your pocket and send messages to your smartphone.

The current version of smart pants is not waterproof, so after each wash cycle, you have to re-pair the controller with your smartphone. While it is not reported whether the developer will improve his invention, it is also unclear whether he plans to sell the novelty.

The author of the development noted that initially it was a comic idea proposed by his friend, but then it turned into a real project.

Zotac introduced the world’s first mini-PC (and PC in general) Zbox PI430AJ solid-state cooling system Frore AirJet.

The startup Frore demonstrated this technology at the beginning of the year at CES 2023, and now it has come to the announcement of the first product. True, the mini-PC will not appear on sale until the end of the year, and Frore herself admits that the technology is still being tested.

If we talk about mini-PC, everything is very simple. This is a device with dimensions of only 115 x 76 x 22 mm, that is, a volume of less than 200 milliliters. In fact, these are the dimensions of the phone, except that the thickness is greater.

At the same time, an eight-core Intel Core i3-N300 is housed inside, and there is also up to 16 GB of RAM and an M.2 slot. Ports include USB-C, USB 3.2 (x2), HDMI, DisplayPort, RJ45, and an SD slot.

It was thanks to the AirJet solid-state cooler that it was possible to create such a PC with such a CPU. More precisely, AirJet Mini and two copies at once. Yes, there are two AirJet Mini modules inside, each of which can dissipate up to 4.25 watts of power. That is, for a seven-watt CPU, two modules were required. But in any case, they take up much less space than a classic CO with a fan and heat pipes or a massive passive radiator. For example, the much larger Zbox CI337 nano only offers a quad-core Processor N100.

Recall, Frore herself says that inside the AirJet are tiny membranes that vibrate at ultrasonic frequencies, and these membranes create a powerful airflow that enters the AirJet through the top vent and removes heat from a separate vent.

How it works, the company does not show, keeping the details secret. However, The Verge journalist visited the Frore office, where he was shown the work of the Zotac mini-PC prototype.

The journalist noted that the system really works, really blows air out of the PC, while remaining relatively silent.

The company is currently working on a version of the AirJet Pro that will be able to output as much as 8.75 watts.
