Google has made an important update to its Android TV platform for smart TVs. Android TV has a dedicated Live tab with 800 ad-supported free TV channels.

Thus, Android TV users have access to various programs from NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox, as well as international content from countries such as India and Japan.

Previously, this innovation appeared on devices with Google TV, including Chromecast and several smart TVs. Like Google TV, Android TV offers access to TV channels for free.

The innovation has already begun to roll out on devices with Android TV, but it may take several weeks before it reaches all users.

Recall that Google TV is not an independent operating system and not renamed Android TV, but an additional shell for Android TV. It debuted on the Chromecast media player in October 2020.

The Chinese company Honor has introduced a new smartphone Honor Play 40. Information about this clearly inexpensive model is already available on the manufacturer’s website.

The Honor Play 40 features a 6.56-inch HD+ (1612 x 720 pixels) LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a dual rear camera (13MP and 2MP).

The hardware basis was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ platform, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal flash memory. The 5200mAh battery supports 10W charging.

The smartphone also received a fingerprint scanner, a standard 3.5 mm audio jack, as well as the Android 13 operating system with the MagicOS 7.1 shell.

The exact price has not yet been announced, but will be known on May 26, 2023. The cost is expected to be around 100 yuan ($143). Buyers will be available four color options, including blue, mint, pink and black.

Google engineer Dan Reva has discovered a vulnerability in Telegram for macOS that allows attackers to use the laptop’s camera and microphone.

The vulnerability allows to inject a dynamic library (Dylib) with a malicious exploit into Telegram on macOS. With it, attackers will be able to record video from a camera with sound and save the file to a hidden folder on a Mac. Moreover, video and audio recording will work even if the corresponding permissions are disabled.

This is possible because Telegram for macOS does not use Apple’s built-in Hardened Runtime security mechanism.

Reva reported this issue to the Telegram team in February 2022. But the developers did not get in touch and still have not eliminated the vulnerability.
