Samsung did a lot better this year. The Galaxy S23 line sells twice as much as the Galaxy S22
The Samsung Galaxy S23 line seems to be selling a lot better than its predecessors. According to recent data, 2.77 million new-generation flagship devices were sold in the first month of sales.

For comparison, the Galaxy S22 line at one time in the same first month showed a result of 1.37 million.
To be more precise, of those 2.77 million, more than half fell on the older model. The Galaxy S23 Ultra sold 1.37 million, while the Galaxy S23 Plus and S23 sold 430,000 and 690,000 respectively.
The current line, we recall, outwardly and in a number of parameters is very close or almost identical to last year’s. Perhaps such an explosive growth in sales is due to the widespread use of the SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. At the same time, we recall that more and more leaks indicate that the Galaxy S24 will receive a new SoC Exynos 2400. Although so far it is credited with quite high performance.
Information was recently shared by a very active insider Revegnus (@Tech_Reve), who previously accurately reported the first details about the new platforms of the Snapdragon 8 and Exynos families.

Apple becomes ‘fastest growing brand’ as sales of discounted used iPhones soar
Analytical company Counterpoint Research shared some interesting statistics. Apple is seeing a significant increase in sales of refurbished iPhones - used smartphones that Apple has officially refurbished and are selling at a discounted price.

Sales of refurbished Apple iPhones grew by 16% in 2022, pushing its share of the secondary smartphone market to almost 50%, from 44% in 2021 to 49% in 2022.
This makes Apple the “fastest growing brand” in the global market for used and refurbished smartphones, Counterpoint Research analysts said. For Apple, the effect of this is twofold: demand for new iPhones is decreasing, but demand for various subscription services is growing.
By comparison, Samsung’s share has fallen from 28% to 26%, while Huawei’s share has fallen from 4% to 2%. Other smartphone makers, including Oppo and Vivo, have held their ground.
