ZTE to merge ZTE, Nubia and Red Magic brands

Today, ZTE held an event during which it unveiled the new Blade 20 Pro 5G smartphone. However, this was not the only announcement – the Chinese giant outlined its plans for next year in detail.
They are unexpected: while many mobile brands are spinning their sub-brands into a separate business, ZTE, on the contrary, proclaims a policy of centralization. Corporation President Xu Ziyang announced that next year it will merge its three mobile brands – directly ZTE, Nubia and Red Devil / Red Magic – into a single consortium. Thus, all future smartphones, regardless of which of the above brands they are released, will receive the ZTE abbreviation in the name and the corresponding logo printed on the body of the mobile device.
ZTE executives also announced that they will create a new brand image next year focused on technology, quality and the younger generation. Ni Fei, who is the head of ZTE Mobile and also president of Nubia, announced the company’s new “1 + 2 + N” product strategy that will integrate phones, personal and family data, and a host of smart 5G devices linked to the ZTE Cloud.
