ZTE Axon 20 5G Teardown Shows How Under-Display Selfie Camera Works

Smartphone manufacturers have experimented a lot trying to get rid of the annoying notch in the display, the culprit of which is the selfie camera. The latest such experiment is the camera hidden under the display, which is equipped with the ZTE Axon 20 5G, released a couple of months ago.
The Axon 20 5G was recently introduced to the global market for $ 449. Popular YouTuber Zach Nelson of YouTube channel JerryRigEverything did not miss the opportunity to dig into the new product, sort all its components on the shelves and find out how Under Display Camera technology works. The result was the video review below. The video provides a comprehensive overview of the internal structure of the ZTE Axon 20 5G, especially the camera under the display on board.
Zach shows how ZTE has aligned two screens stacked on top of each other. At the bottom is a compact, low-res square screen on top of the selfie camera, and at the top is the OLED panel itself. This arrangement allows the camera below the display to see through the main panel.
