YouTube will advertise on videos of creators with low subscribers, but won’t pay

Google, the owner of the world’s most popular video hosting service, YouTube, has updated its Terms of Service. According to the updated text of the document, this is done in favor of YouTube, not users.

Changes to the Terms allow the company to advertise in videos that are sponsored by users with a small subscriber base, that is, users who are not members of the YouTube Partner Program.

And the saddest thing is that such creators will not receive income from advertising.

Initially, the new rules for using the video service will apply exclusively to users from the United States, but by the end of 2021, advertising in low-volume videos will appear all over the world.

Google’s decision is not surprising. Thanks to the changes in the Terms of Service, the American corporation will receive income with many zeros, which will not have to be shared with the content authors, which can be called a bold plus for the company’s management.
