You can try the big Google Chrome update now. A new level of interactivity and much more

Google has released a new beta version of its proprietary Chrome browser, which contains exciting innovations, including enhanced interactivity and more.

The stable release of Chrome 88 just last week marked the final removal of Adobe Flash Player and FTP, as well as an impressive list of new features. Chrome 89 threatens to be an even more significant and major update, although some of the changes will not be very noticeable to users.

Chrome Beta 89 adds a number of key API updates to enhance the interactive experience in both desktop and mobile browsers. Android users have a new way to interact with NFC tags.

Google has enabled Web NFC support by default. This allows mobile devices to interact with objects in the real world using NFC tags right through the browser, without additional special applications. For example, using a browser on a smartphone, you can interact with objects in museums and galleries, walk into a building, and so on.

Chrome for Windows and ChromeOS make it easy to share content with friends, in much the same way users are used to “sharing” content in the Android browser.

Much attention is paid to safety. Honestly, the Privacy Sandbox technology, announced back in 20219, has been implemented. The project was originally intended to completely eliminate the use of third-party cookies, a long-standing Google dream.

With Privacy Sandbox, the company promises “a secure personalization environment that also protects users’ privacy.” Development is still in its early stages, with Chrome 89 offering a customization interface for the first time. The function is activated by the new # privacy-sandbox-settings flag.

Chrome 88 and Chrome 89

Chrome 89 has changed the Discover (personal recommendation) feed on the new tab page. Instead of separate cards, the articles are separated by a simple stripe, the font of the title has become more noticeable, the additional description has disappeared. And these are not all the changes that await us in Chrome 89.
