Xpeng Motor unveiled the Traveler X1 electric passenger quadcopter. On sale by the end of the year

Xpeng Motor unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show not only the traditional vehicle in the form of the Xpeng P5 electric car, but also an alternative vehicle – the air one. The photo below shows the Traveler X1 electric passenger quadcopter, which will go on sale at the end of the year.

In terms of dimensions, such a means of small aircraft is comparable to a car, and its advantages include vertical take-off and landing. The company claims that it has thoroughly tested the device, having made more than 10,000 flights. In addition, before the start of sales, the creators have time to bring the vehicle to marketable condition and make sure it is safe.

The Traveler X1 has a maximum lifting capacity of 200 kg (that is, it is suitable for moving two people), and the weight of the quadcopter itself is 240 kg. “Traveler” is a big name for a vehicle with flight autonomy of 18-25 minutes, however, in a city or remote villages, such a vehicle can be very useful. The Traveler X1 is designed to fly at altitudes up to 1 km at speeds up to 120 km / h and a maximum wind force of 5-6 Beaufort.

Xpeng believes that such a vehicle will be in demand not only by individual users, but also, for example, for commercial purposes – for air tours. Also, the Traveler X1 can be useful in rescue operations or as an emergency vehicle.
