Xiaomi, what kind of flagship is this? Mi 11 falls in the DxoMark ranking, losing even to Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Ultra

DxOMark has published a report on testing the main camera of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, and this report marks a small sensation: the latest flagship of the company, which the developers are so proud of, failed – it did not even make it into the top twenty.

In fact, he has 120 points per camera – and 22nd place in the rating. The paradox is that the last generation models, Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Ultra, are ranked much higher in the ranking: 9th and 4th places, respectively. Google Pixel 5 has the same 120 points, but this model is equipped with a fairly simple camera with two sensors with a resolution of 12 and 16 megapixels – no 108 megapixels, like the Mi 11, there is no trace of it.

What did DxOMark specialists dislike about the Mi 11 camera? Many things. There are complaints about autofocus (the system focuses slowly in low light conditions and misses objects in the frame), photos often turn out to be underexposed, there are problems with exposure and video in low light conditions, low detail at zoom (in all zoom ranges) and noises. On the plus side, most problems disappear in good lighting conditions. Also noted is the accurate white balance, a wide dynamic range both in the photo and in the video, an effective stabilization system.

Interestingly, even users who switched from Mi 10 to Mi 11 note the poor quality of the camera of the new flagship. At the same time, another model in the line, Mi 11 Ultra, is now the undisputed leader in the DxOMark ranking.

The iPhone may finally have a feature that was still

Apple’s next generation of smartphones may finally get an important feature that has been on many Android phones for years. It’s about Always On Display.

The iPhone may finally have a feature that was still on the old Nokia smartphones. iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may get Always On Display

In the current generation, in older models, Apple for the first time for the iPhone used displays with a higher frame rate. In particular, they can change the frequency from 10 to 120 Hz. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may get screens that can drop down to 1Hz. And this will allow Apple to implement a very energy efficient version of the Always On Display.

Ross Young, founder of research firms Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch, expects such a feature to actually arrive on the iPhone. Also, about a year ago, the appearance of this feature was also attributed to the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, but for some reason Apple decided not to do this.

The Always On Display feature debuted on the Nokia 6303 feature phone in 2009, and then became more widespread on the Nokia smartphone with Simbian and Lumia devices.

This year Samsung again will not be able to get

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 smartphone may get a less noticeable crease than the company’s current model.

This year, Samsung again will not be able to get rid of the crease in the new Galaxy Z Fold

The well-known insider Ice Universe wrote about this, noting, however, that the fold is still visible. The novelty will be better than its predecessor in this matter, but will not be able to completely get rid of the crease, as Motorola was able to do in its first flexible smartphone.

The wrinkle issue on Samsung’s foldable flagships comes up every year, and every time this problem remains unresolved. At the same time, sales are actively growing, so, apparently, for the majority this is not a problem.

Ice Universe was one of the first to talk about smartphones with waterfall screens, about the bangs in the iPhone X, about the new design of the iPhone 14, and also about the 200-megapixel image sensor of Samsung

It will be a small loss Ice Universe admits Samsungs

Chinese insider Ice Universe, who has leaked tons of reliable information about different smartphones and Samsung image sensors, has made a surprise announcement about the future of Samsung’s mobile division.

He said that for Samsung, leaving the smartphone market will not be very painful, because the company is focusing on other areas where it has achieved success.

It will be a small loss Ice Universe admits Samsungs

Perhaps for the Samsung Group, even if one day it gives up its mobile phone business, it will be a small loss. Samsung focuses on semiconductors, biotechnology and artificial intelligence. Even if the mobile phone business disappears, Samsung will still be a great supplier, as will LG.

This insider often criticizes Samsung for not drawing conclusions and being inferior to Chinese competitors, while having everything in order to be the first to introduce various innovations.

Ice Universe was one of the first to talk about smartphones with waterfall screens, about the notch in the iPhone X, about the new design of the iPhone 14, as well as about Samsung’s 200-megapixel image sensor.

iPhone 13 is the most popular smartphone in the world

According to IDC, the most popular smartphone in the world this year (in the first quarter) was the iPhone 13. In second place is the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and in fourth place is the iPhone 13 Pro. In general, the current line of Apple smartphones has no equal.

iPhone 13 is the most popular smartphone in the world in 2022. Top 5 - only Apple and Samsung models

The top 5 also includes two Samsung models, but from the lower price segment, these are the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A32. It is only natural that Apple’s revenue from the sale of smartphones is much larger than that of Samsung: $42 billion versus $3.6 billion. However, the comparison in terms of revenue is not entirely fair in the sense that the iPhone 13 has been on sale since last fall, and they are already well known to consumers. While the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A32 only debuted in February.
