Xiaomi, what is this flagship? Xiaomi 12 Pro failed in the camera test
Despite the fact that Xiaomi 12 Pro debuted at the end of December last year, it has only just arrived at DxOMark labs. Alas, the device has nothing to brag about, if we are talking about the camera. The 14th place in the overall rating for a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 model, which is presented as a top one, is not at all the level at which Xiaomi 12 Pro should have been. But it is equipped with three 50-megapixel sensors …
For comparison, the same 14 is occupied by the Oppo Find X3 Pro, which is already a year old. Or the 2020 Vivo X50 Pro+. The disappointment is all the more so that even the year before last Xiaomi’s flagship, Mi 10 Ultra, is located higher in the ranking – at 10 positions. It has 133 points against 131 for Xiaomi 12 Pro. It is obvious that the company urgently needs Xiaomi 12 Ultra, otherwise it will not work to strengthen its position in the DxOMark ranking.
Among the advantages of the Xiaomi 12 Pro camera is a high level of detail in different conditions both in photos and videos, fast autofocus, an effective stabilization system when shooting video, and high-quality night shooting. Cons – Artifacts when shooting with HDR, limited focal length when shooting with zoom, underexposed objects in low-light videos and … ads in the music player. DxOMark experts also note that the Xiaomi 12 Pro camera is not suitable for recording concerts and shows.
By the way, in the DxOMark audio test, Xiaomi 12 Pro performed even worse: it scored 70 points, which allowed it to take only 30th place in the overall ranking.

Laptops

Thunderobot has fully introduced the Mix Mini gaming mini-PC. The device is extremely interesting, since a 14-core Core i9 and RTX 4070 Laptop fit into a body with a volume of only 1.7 liters.
Of course, there are simpler versions. The base one has a Core i7-13620H, RTX 4060 Laptop, 16 GB of RAM and no storage. For such a PC they ask for $750. The most expensive one will be the one with Core i9-13900H, RTX 4070 Laptop, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. For such a PC you will have to pay 1230 dollars.
From the rest we can highlight Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, HDMI 2.1 (x2), USB-C (x2), USB 3.2 (x2), RJ45 and dimensions 260 x 165 x 42 mm.

There are no details yet, but it is known that the line will include four models with diagonals of 55, 65, 75 and 85 inches. All new products will receive 4K UHD screens with a frequency of 144 Hz, SoC MediaTek MT9653, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory.
At the same time, the prices for the devices will be very low: 381, 483, 674 and 879 dollars in increasing order of diagonal.
Phones

The “smartphone-clutch” Honor V Purse, despite its positioning as a fashion accessory and form factor, is priced at not the most $825 for the basic version. Considering the same form factor and positioning, it would be useful to know that screen repair will cost the owner almost 70% of the cost of the smartphone.
As it became known, Honor will charge about $558 for screen repair. This is the price in China at the current exchange rate. It will also be very expensive to replace the motherboard: $274 or $342 depending on the configuration. Of course, this includes the platform, RAM and flash memory, since all this is soldered on the board.
