Xiaomi stops developing MIUI 12.5 for Mi 9, Mi 9 SE, Redmi K20, redmi K20 pro, Redmi Note 8, Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro. They won’t get Android 12 either

According to the source, Xiaomi has stopped developing MIUI 12.5 for its once very popular smartphones. The list of 12 models: Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi 9 SE, Mi CC 9, Mi CC 9 Meitu, Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Mi 9 Lite, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro.

All these models will no longer receive experimental (i.e. beta) versions of MIUI 12.5 firmware. The latest beta version of MIUI 12.5 firmware for them is numbered 21.11.24. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be other updates. Yes, these models will no longer receive Android 12, but MIUI 13 based on Android 11 will still be released for them. It will happen next year.

The assembly is available to members of the Windows Insiders program. The main new feature in build 25217 is the long-awaited support for third-party widgets.

Windows Insiders can now start developing and testing widgets for their apps. Widgets can be added to the widget board, which is currently only populated with web content offered by Microsoft.

Because this is a preview, developers are not yet able to submit widget-enabled apps to the Microsoft Store. Accordingly, users cannot simply find applications with widgets right now.
