The German federal cybersecurity agency BSI conducted its own investigation and delivered its verdict. The experts did not find evidence of any censorship tools in the software code of Xiaomi devices.

“As a result, BSI was unable to identify any anomalies requiring further investigation or other measures,” the German federal cybersecurity watchdog said at the request of Reuters.

The experts did not find evidence of the accusations of Lithuanian and Taiwanese experts against Xiaomi. At the moment, Xiaomi has not commented on the results of the investigation, which it will definitely like. If the latest study is to be believed, then throwing away Xiaomi phones, as officials in Lithuania called for, is definitely not worth it.

Last September, Lithuanian officials filed charges against Xiaomi, saying its smartphones have a built-in censorship tool to filter out requests that Beijing doesn’t like or don’t like. Among other things, they also stated that the devices send user data to servers in Singapore.

For its part, Xiaomi stated that devices available in Europe and on the global market do not have any tools for censorship, and also assured that it guards the privacy of users’ personal data.

Not so long ago, the Taiwan National Communications Commission (NCC) also announced the discovery of built-in censorship tools in Xiaomi smartphones.

According to iDropNews, Apple has already decided to hold a fall event for the launch of new devices, which will be held on September 13th.

At this event, Apple is due to introduce the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple will reportedly equip the iPhone 14 Pro models with the 4nm A16 Bionic SoC, while non-professional phones can cyjdf use the 5nm A15 Bionic SoC that was used in the iPhone 13. Most consumers have no idea what SoC the phone is built on. SoC reuse could help Apple make the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max more price-competitive.

Even if Apple reuses the A15 Bionic SoC in iPhone 14 non-professional phones, it could still give them a different name, such as A16 Bionic. Then the new platform will be called SoC Apple A16 Pro.
