Xiaomi has released an updated version of the compact reader with an e-ink screen – the Moaan InkPalm Plus model. This device is almost the same size as a regular smartphone, but offers all the basic functions of an E Ink reader, combined with powerful hardware.
The novelty is an improved version of the usual InkPalm reader. The new model is equipped with a 5.84-inch black and white display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels, backlight with 24 levels of brightness and support for color temperature adjustment. Separately, we note the support for multitouch.
Inside is a Rockchip RK3566 quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal flash memory. Such a chip is usually used in “smart” set-top boxes and other devices of this class. Also, the novelty received a battery with a capacity of 2200 mAh, which is enough for 30 days of operation or about 6000 flips. Charging takes about 2.5 hours.
From wireless communications, we note the presence of Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 adapters. There is no modem and cellular support in the device.
Android is used as the OS, which allows you to install any reader programs, as well as, in principle, any applications for the Google operating system. Although, of course, video players and games on the device are not needed, because the E Ink screen is rather slow to update.
The Xiaomi Moaan InkPalm Plus pre-order price is $165 in China. There is no data on the release date and price of the international version yet.
Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra users will soon be able to try out Android 13 and One UI 5.0. The public beta version of the firmware will be released in mid-July
Rumors attributed the release of the public beta version of the One UI 5.0 interface based on Android 13 in July this year, and now the source has given a little more detail on this matter. The “window” for the release of the beta version of One UI 5.0 has been clarified – this will happen in the third week of July, from the 11th to the 17th.
The flagship smartphones of the Galaxy S22 series will be the first to receive One UI 5.0, which is logical. But the source writes that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will join the beta testing program pretty quickly. Well, the final version of One UI 5.0 will appear only in October. However, this is still earlier than the release of One UI 4.0 took place at one time.
Popular Action Launcher Android skin gets more free features
Action Launcher is a fairly popular shell for the Android operating system among paid ones. The developers have released Action Launcher v50, which has many more free features for those who do not want to pay for such features.
The app has gone through a lot of improvements over the years to keep up with some of the key improvements made by Google. However, in recent times there has been more and more criticism that the free basic version had a minimum number of features.
The Action Launcher’s implementation of the Freemium system has historically been terrible. We pushed people too aggressively to buy the Plus upgrade, which turned off so many people, and the app was hardly interesting for non-paying users.
Action Launcher v50 is suitable for everyone whether you pay or not. The new version offers an improved search engine that uses the Pixel Launcher. Action search gives you the best results on the web and on your device, as well as some action launcher settings that can be toggled right from the home screen.
In addition to action search and other free features, the action launcher’s own settings are changed. The app adds a settings search bar as well as shortcuts to recently changed settings.
