Lu Weibong, who is the president of Xiaomi Group China and the CEO of Redmi, has left a controversial post on his Weibo page regarding the Redmi K40 smartphone.

He stated that Xiaomi has somehow gotten too excited by setting such a low price on the new flagship based on Snapdragon 888. As a reminder, it was announced yesterday that Redmi will be the cheapest Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone and will be released at a price of $ 465.

He also reached out to Weibo users asking if Xiaomi should initially raise the price of the Redmi K40. Of course, the majority of Xiaomi and Redmi fans in the comments ask Redmi to adhere to the previously announced policy and not change the declared price.

Earlier, Lu Weibing stated that Redmi K40 is equipped with the most expensive flat screen, while it will become the best and cheapest flagship with a display without bends. Now he also clarified that the company is using the latest AMOLED screen with the best features.

The presentation of the smartphone is expected in February this year along with RedmiBook Pro laptops based on Intel Tiger Lake-H35 processors.
