Huami, a well-known contract manufacturer of Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelets, has introduced a new smartwatch model under its own brand Amazfit – Amazfit T-Rex Pro to the international market.

Amazfit T-Rex Pro is an improved version of last year’s unkillable smartwatch Amazfit T-Rex (review). The Pro version received 10ATM water protection, while its predecessor had only 5ATM. The manufacturer also used the new BioTracker 2 PPG optical sensor for more accurate heart rate tracking, and there was also support for tracking blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and a hundred sports modes, whereas previously there were only 14.

The rest of the characteristics are basically the same. The watch is equipped with a 1.3-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 360 x 360 with an “always on” display function, GPS with GLONASS, BeiDuo and Galileo, a 390 mAh battery, a 3-axis acceleration sensor, a 3-axis gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, ambient light sensor and altimeter. The manufacturer promises 18 days of battery life in “normal” use.

The watch meets the American military standard MIL-STD-810G. They weigh 59.4g with the strap. Zepp RTOS is used as a software platform. Regular notifications, music control, alarms and reminders are supported. It is possible to work in tandem with smartphones based on Android (version 5.0 and newer) and iOS (version 10 and newer).

Amazfit T-Rex Pro is offered in three colors – black, gray and blue. In the US, the watch is priced at $ 179.99, and in the UK at 139 pounds.
