A resource that monitors MIUI firmware code updates has identified 14 new smartphone models that Xiaomi is preparing for release. Most of them belong to the flagship Xiaomi 12 line, but some models have so far been identified only at the level of the code designation and the manufacturer of the single-chip system used.
Five models are assigned to the top-end Xiaomi 12 series. A pair on Snapdragon 898, a pair on Snapdragon 778G and one model on Snapdragon 870+. There are four models in the Redmi K50 line and none on Snapdragon 778. So formally and in aggregate, this series will be even more powerful than Xiaomi 12. It is also confirmed that one of the Redmi K50 models will receive the super-powerful MediaTek Dimensity 2000 platform.
Interestingly, the global Redmi Note 11 models coming out next year are attributed to MediaTek single-chip systems. It is hoped that these will be more powerful SoCs than Dimensity 810 and Dimensity 920, used in the Chinese Redmi Note 11.
Most of the smartphones from this list will be released next year. This year, in December, only the debut of the Xiaomi 12 is expected.
Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro received the first update from Android 12
Xiaomi has released the first update to the proprietary operating system Android 12 for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro smartphones.
Earlier, the first update based on Android 12 was available for the Mi 10 Ultra, and now the MIUI 12.5 Beta firmware number 21.11.30 has become available for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.
It is worth noting that while we are talking about test beta versions of firmware that are available for Chinese users of Xiaomi smartphones. Stable versions and firmwares for the international market will have to wait for now.
Meanwhile, in the second half of December, the official debut of the next major update of the proprietary shell is expected – MIUI 13.
