Today it became known that the flexible OLED display for the new smartphone of the Xiaomi Mi Mix line is supplied by China Star Optoelectronics, a subsidiary of the renowned manufacturer TCL. The source adds that the company is manufacturing this screen exclusively for the Xiaomi foldable phone. Previously, top OLED screens were supplied by Samsung, but in recent years the situation has changed dramatically, and Chinese manufacturers have strengthened their positions.

Over the past two years, different models of foldable smartphones have appeared on the smartphone market. The first such phone, the Royole Flexpai, hit the market back in 2018. However, the segment became more popular with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, which have already received successors.

Xiaomi showed a prototype of its smartphone with a flexible screen two years ago, it could be folded in two places. However, the commercial device, according to the leaks and photos, looks like the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The screen of the device will fold down in the middle and hide inside the case when folded.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix foldable phone also uses the world’s first liquid lens, which will expand the device’s camera capabilities. As we already reported, the liquid lenses for the new Xiaomi Mi Mix were created by the Chinese company Ofilm, a former Apple partner.

The presentation of Xiaomi Mi Mix and many other new products will take place today.

The week began for the main cryptocurrencies of the world with a rise in price and the establishment of new price highs, and ends with a fall, and quite noticeable. Over the course of a day, Bitcoin loses about 4.5% of its value, and as a result, for 1 BTC now they give not $ 66,000, but about $ 60,500.

After Bitcoin began to fall, Ethereum was still holding, but its rate had already gone down too, dropping below the psychological mark of $ 4,000. Analysts believe that such a fall in cryptocurrencies is due to their sell-off on the part of investors – they are fixing profits against the backdrop of a strong growth in value that has been observed since the end of September. This means that after the current correction, Bitcoin may rush to new heights, but whether altcoins will follow it is a big question.

Interestingly, against the background of a decrease in quotations of other cryptocurrencies from the Top 10, Solana feels very confident: it grew by almost 6% per day, and by almost 25% in a week.
