You can turn off “Recommendations” in mobile Chrome

Google is preparing to introduce an innovation that will delight many users of the mobile version of the proprietary Chrome browser.
We are talking about the ability to remove the Discover ribbon (Recommendations) from the Chrome New Tab page. On mobile versions of the Google Chrome browser, the new tab page currently hosts a search bar, most viewed websites, and two content feeds. One of them is the traditional Google Discover channel (Google Recommendations), which shows a list of articles recommended for the user by Google algorithms.
Soon, the browser should be able to remove this feed – using a special flag #feed-ablation, which will appear on the chrome://flags page. It’s already available in an early test build of Chrome Canary, and is expected to be released with the release of stable Chrome 103 next month.

Google TV finally has support for user profiles

Google has finally begun rolling out an update to Google TV that brings support for multiple profiles to smart TVs and set-top boxes.
Recall that Google TV is not an independent operating system and not renamed Android TV, but an additional shell for Android TV. It debuted on the Chromecast media player in October 2020. Since launch, Google TV users have been complaining about the lack of full support for multiple profiles on the device. The feature was announced in October last year and was scheduled to begin rolling out to devices by the end of the year. However, two months later, Google delayed the launch indefinitely.
Now Google has announced the start of rolling out support for multiple profiles on the same device with Google TV. The feature will not appear instantly for all users, but gradually over the next few weeks.
It will allow you to create a personalized space on one TV for several users with different Google accounts. Each of them can access personalized recommendations, quick access to their watch list, and so on.

Injustice fixed: Google Assistant arrives on Samsung Galaxy Watch4

Owners of the Galaxy Watch4 smartwatch (review) have been waiting for the support of the Google Assistant (Google Assistant) voice assistant since Samsung released it last year. At the time of release, the watch only offered the proprietary Bixby assistant, but now an update with Google Assistant has become available.
Note that Google first showed off the Assistant for the Galaxy Watch 4 back in February, but until now, the promised Google Assistant has not been available to Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 users. Now users will be able to download the necessary software directly from the Google Play Store on the device.
Google Assistant will be available in ten regions for the first time, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, the UK and the US.
