With MagSafe magnetic charging and SD slot, but without the proprietary Touch Bar. There are rumors describing the options of the new MacBook Pro

Already on October 18, at the next event, Apple is believed to present new laptops. Including the MacBook Pro based on the new M1X SoC. Today we have new rumors in this regard, and they are worthy of attention.

The source claims that we are waiting for the new MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 with displays with a diagonal of 14 and 16 inches, respectively. They will finally get a new design with thinner bezels and no Apple logo on the lid.

The base versions of both models will offer 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The current MacBook Pro 16 in the base offers the same amount of RAM, but twice the storage capacity. Considering that Apple always asks for a lot for additional storage, this clearly will not please potential buyers.

Previously, new products were also credited with 120-Hz screens. The source says it has heard that Apple is testing such a solution, but it is not yet clear if it will be available in production notebooks. The laptop will return to the HDMI port, SD card slot and MagSafe charging connector. But the Touch Bar will supposedly disappear. This would mean that Apple is abandoning its unusual idea five years after the release of the first such MacBook Pro.

The source of this information is the developer and analyst Dylan, but it is not yet clear whether his data can be trusted. If you look at his Twitter profile, he shares this kind of information about Apple all the time, and some of it is then actually confirmed. So everything written above should be taken as a possible scenario. However, most of what was written coincides with early leaks and rumors.

The new MacBook Pro with SoC M1 Max barely manages to beat a laptop with a quad-core Core i7-11370H. Test results appeared in Adobe Premiere Pro

Sometimes the new MacBook Pros are impressive in their performance, sometimes not at all. We have already seen the first, and now let’s look at the second.

Rendering 8K video in Adobe Premiere Pro, as it turns out, is not the strong point of Apple’s new laptop. Even the top one.

With the back of the PC coped in a little over 21 minutes. And for comparison, Microsoft Laptop Studio with a quad-core Core i7-11370H and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti coped with this task only a little slower (in almost 23 minutes). Moreover, the Lenovo ThinkPad P15 with Core i9-11950H and Nvidia RTX A5000 managed to achieve a time of less than 14 minutes, which is much better than the new MacBook Pro. Let’s clarify: in this case we are talking about the version with SoC M1 Max. That is, the M1 Pro will be even slower.

It should be understood that the Adobe Premiere Pro application is not optimized for macOS and Apple Silicon, so the results should be treated accordingly.

What’s hidden inside the new MacBook Pro 14? Disassembly showed some improvements making repairs easier

New MacBook Pros are already arriving, and one of them has even managed to disassemble its 14-inch model.

Thanks to this, we can find out some of the features of the internal layout of this laptop. For example, the process of removing the lid has not changed much compared to previous generation laptops. In doing so, Apple is finally replacing the adhesive used to secure the battery cells with the adhesive rubber tabs it uses on new iPhones.

At the same time, replacing the keyboard is still very difficult or even impossible, since it is part of the case. But the numerous ports, including MagSafe, are modular, so you can easily replace them.

“How did it go on sale? Who designed it? ” Reviews of the first users about the bangs of the new MacBook Pro began to appear on the web

Twitter user Quinn Nelson, with over 140,000 followers, is one of the first to share his experiences with the new MacBook Pro’s new banged laptop.

It is worth noting that the newly minted MacBook Pro owner is very unhappy with this decision: “What the hell? How did it go on sale? What it is?”. With these words, he commented on the first video, in which he shows that behind the bangs there are actually invisible menu items, the name of which is impossible to read.

In some applications, the cursor simply cannot be brought into the area that is hidden by the bangs. It jumps from left to right or bends around the perimeter of the cutout.

Who designed it?

Apple also made it possible to hide bangs in MacBook Pro full screen mode. Shruti Haldea, Mac product line manager who co-hosted last week’s Apple event, recently praised the bangs on the MacBook Pro.

The brand new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros will go on sale this Friday, October 29th.
