Windows 11 will run faster than Windows 10 by optimizing CPU, memory and storage resources

Published

on

The new Windows 11 OS will delight users not only with new functions and a refreshed interface, but also with a more economical use of resources of key PC hardware components – processor, memory and storage.

According to Steve Dispensa, Microsoft’s vice president of corporate governance, the changes in Windows 11 are cutting memory usage by 32% and CPU usage by 37%. While optimizing, a lot of attention was paid to speeding up the Windows hibernation and wake-up processes. Intel processors starting with the 8th Gen Intel Core will provide near-instant Windows wake-ups, with the system starting up about as fast as ARM-based devices.

Microsoft has also changed the resource allocation prioritization for applications. So, tasks running in the background that require a lot of computing power will not slow down the work of other applications. This change alone allowed the system to wake up from sleep 25% faster.

iPhone 14 Pro Max running out of RAM New Apple

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is finally brought head to head against Samsung’s flagship to see who’s faster. In this case, Galaxy Z Fold4 acted on behalf of the Korean giant.

The comparison was carried out by the authors of the PhoneBuff channel, who use a robotic arm, thus getting rid of the human factor.

The first lap was head-to-head, but at the end Fold4 lagged behind a bit. On the second lap, the Apple flagship was in the lead for a long time, but in the end it turned out that the iPhone unloaded Microsoft Excel and Word from memory, it had to load them again, and the Samsung flagship was ahead.

As a result, it was Fold4 that won, but the difference was as small as on the first lap, so in general the winner here can only be called conditionally.

Its cooler than Apple and Microsoft Intel introduced the Unison

Intel has announced a new program called Unison that will allow you to connect iOS and Android smartphones to PCs with Intel processors. This will make it possible to actually transfer all the main functions of smartphones to a PC. This program was shown along with a PC with a sliding screen.

The new program will allow you to make and receive calls on your PC using your smartphone, send and receive text messages, transfer photos and files, and receive various notifications.

It’s somewhat similar to the Link to Phone app in Windows 10 and Windows 11, but Unison offers more options. If Link to Phone only works with Samsung smartphones and some other brands, then the new system will appear for all mobile devices. At the same time, the iPhone version will be slightly less functional – this applies to text messaging and managing third-party applications. All this is due to the restrictions put forward by the company from Cupertino.

At the first stage, the new feature will be available only to owners of laptops based on 12th generation processors released by Acer, HP and Lenovo. These laptops are part of the Intel Evo program. After the release of models on chips of the 13th generation, the list will expand.

Note that there is a similar one on the MacBook, where you can synchronize data with the iPhone. Now the same is expected on Windows.
