A rather interesting comparison of the performance of Windows 10 and Windows 11 in games has appeared on the Web. They were run sequentially on the same PC and the FPS were compared. At the same time, the load of the processor and video card drew upon itself – in Windows 11 it is consistently higher. But, it should be noted that the frame rate in Windows 11 is also consistently higher.

The test was carried out with a PC with the following configuration: Intel Core i7-10700K, MSI MAG Z490 Tomahawk, GeForce RTX 3090, 32 GB of RAM (2 16 GB DDR4-3600 MHz modules), 1 TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD. All games ran at Full HD resolution.

The list of games used for the test is as follows: Hitman 3, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Cyberpunk 2077, Watch Dogs: Legion, Far Cry: New Dawn, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Red Dead Redemption 2, Metro Exodus. It should be noted that all these results were obtained without the Nvidia driver released specifically for Windows 11. So in reality, in the final version of the new OS, the frame rate may be even higher, while the GPU load, on the contrary, is lower.

As you can see, there is an even more profitable graphics card – GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. That is, it offers more than its price of $400. As for the rest of Nvidia’s cards, most of them have not gone far from the standard, offering 90-94% price match. But all high cards are heavily overvalued. The same GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, according to such calculations, should cost only $ 814, and not $ 2,000 at all.

As far as AMD cards are concerned, only the Radeon RX 6800 and 6800 XT can be distinguished here, which are very close to 100%. Also, the Radeon RX 6700 XT has a rate of 92%. The rest of the cards are significantly more overpriced, although no model falls short of the RTX 3090 Ti in this indicator, simply because even the RX 6950 XT is almost half the price.

It is worth mentioning separately that the source only evaluated performance in games, so all calculations are rather arbitrary. We are talking about a line of APUs called Dragon Range. Processors in this line will be labeled as Ryzen 70000HX. Now AMD also has such APUs, but they are not much different from other mobile high-end models. Dragon Range will be very different.

As you can see, the source says that within this line, AMD will finally launch processors with more than eight cores in the mobile segment. AMD will also have a Phoenix line with Ryzen 7000HS processors. These APUs will be more familiar with six to eight cores. In this case, the former will receive an iGPU with 1536 stream processors, and the latter will have a core with 768 stream processors.

The older iGPU, as previously stated and according to the source, will operate at frequencies of 2.6-3.0 GHz, which will provide incredible performance for the integrated graphics core – 9.2 TFLOPS. This could be the level of the mobile GeForce RTX 3060 Max-Q.
