Apple is in talks with the Indian government to start production of branded iPad tablets in the country. This was reported by the authoritative edition of Reuters, citing industry sources.

The Indian government is about to launch a massive project to boost local production of tablets, laptops and servers, while encouraging export manufacturers. Within 5 years, it is planned to invest $ 964.5 million in the project. The launch of the initiative should take place before the end of February.

Among the interested companies, there is also Apple, which, together with other manufacturers, is lobbying for a more significant budget – over $ 2.7 billion. One reason is that India does not yet have sufficient capacity for the scale Apple needs.

Apple has already been making iPhones in India since 2018 to avoid import duties when bringing products into the country as part of the Indian government’s Make in India initiative. In January, there were already messages on the network about the transfer of part of the iPad production from China, but then it was about Vietnam.

A well-known insider under the nickname Ice Universe has published a new image on his page, which compares the frames of Redmi Note 12 Turbo and iPhone 14.

The Redmi Note 12 Trubo is a smartphone that costs less than $300, but it has a very narrow bezel, which is great. The whole world is using new technologies to create smartphones with narrower bezels. Only one declining brand is against this general trend: the bezel on its smartphones is getting wider and wider.
