The popular Quake shooter from ID Software, released in 1996, has already been ported to all kinds of devices. And now there is a version for the Apple Watch. The developer under the nickname MyOwnClone (real name – Thomas Wimazal) transferred the shooter to the watch. At the same time, he added the ability to play using touch buttons.

According to the author, he was helped by existing ports with source code for macOS and iOS. The game runs video at a frequency of 60 FPS at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, sound through the built-in speaker of the watch, the Digital Crown navigation wheel and gyroscope are also supported.

The actual version of the game is available on GitHub, but installation requires compilation of the code on a Mac computer using the Xcode development environment. You will also need original Quake map files. That is why the game cannot simply be downloaded from the App Store, however, the repository describes in detail the process of building your port.
