Why smartphones are on fire and what to do: Roskachestvo explains

In an interview with Radio Sputnik, Sergey Kuzmenko, a senior specialist in testing digital products of Roskachestvo, spoke about why smartphones light up and what rules you need to follow in order not to burn your phone.

According to him, an incorrectly selected power supply can lead to the failure of a smartphone and even a fire. When buying an adapter, users should take into account the characteristics of their mobile device and not get carried away by chargers with too much power.

The standard power adapter for charging has an output of 5 V and 1.5 A. There are also adapters with fast charging technology, but here it should be borne in mind that increased power consumption must be supported on the device being charged. It is necessary to familiarize yourself with the technical characteristics of the smartphone and not supply more power than necessary. At best, such an initiative will lead to burnout of the battery, and at worst – to the fire of the device itself.

In China, they make external batteries with two outputs. The user looks that one device has an output for 5 and 10 V, he thinks that 10 V charges faster and plugs the cord there. As a result, after about a year of use, the battery on the smartphone loses its capacity. He loses it much faster than when charging from 5 volts.
