WhatsApp will introduce messages that can only be opened once
According to the WABetaInfo portal, a new beta version of the WhatsApp messenger is currently being tested under the number 2.22.25.20. An interesting feature was noticed in it: the ability to send messages that can only be read once. Using a special button with a lock symbol (lock) you can send a message that the recipient can open only once. Then, when you open the chat again, such a message will no longer be available – it will be automatically deleted. Instead, an inscription will appear in the chat: “The time to read this message has expired. Ask the sender to resend it.”
This feature is very useful for sending confidential information: users do not have to manually delete messages from the chat to protect sensitive data. It is also convenient that “one-time” messages in WhatsApp are protected from copying and forwarding. Beta testers with WABetaInfo suggest that for complete security, the ability to take a screenshot of the chat should also be unavailable, but so far there is no exact confirmation of this. Apparently, the function of sending “one-time” messages will appear in WhatsApp with one of the following updates.

Microsoft Edge will allow you to launch web applications directly from the address bar

Microsoft has begun testing a new feature for its proprietary Edge browser that will allow users to launch web applications directly from the browser’s address bar. The feature is already available in an early test build of Edge Canary.
We are talking about PWA (Progressive Web Application, Progressive Web Applications). If the user has already installed the website as an app, the Edge suggestion dropdown in the address bar will offer the option to open the site in the app.
In addition to being able to open PWAs from the address bar, Microsoft is also testing a new “Install App” button in the address bar to quickly install web apps. It is also available exclusively to Canary users.

Twitter plans to create an analogue of PayPal and Apple Pay. The system will also support cryptocurrencies

Twitter is expecting another innovation – its own payment system that will support both fiat and cryptocurrencies. The company has already filed registration documents with the US Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Service. This indicates the imminent launch of the payment system.
The new system is expected to allow bank accounts to connect to Twitter to transfer money directly. According to the owner of the social network Elon Musk, this encourages authors to create more content, which will allow the service itself to earn.
This innovation will be another step towards creating a “super app”, which, for example, is the Chinese WeChat service. It has the functions of payment for goods, a news block. messenger, identification system and much more.
The source claims that the infrastructure for the new service is being built by a small team led by Twitter director of product management Esther Crawford. At first, the system will support only traditional currencies, but in the future it will also be possible to work with “crypto”.
Launch dates have not yet been announced.

Redesigned Paint with a dark theme is already available on any version of Windows 11, but Microsoft has nothing to do with it

Microsoft has significantly redesigned its famous graphic editor Paint with the release of the Windows 11 operating system. However, the application still lacks dark mode support.
It’s been a few months since the redesigned Paint app was released, but Windows Insiders Testers have yet to get access to the dark theme.
However, WindowsLatest has published a selection of screenshots that showcase the dark theme in the new Paint. Unfortunately, you can only customize Windows with additional dark mode effects using a new open-source third-party app called Windhawk. A mod has been added to Windhawk that enables support for hidden dark mode in Paint on any version of Windows 11 (21H2 or newer).
As noted in WindowsLatest, dark mode support for Paint is already present in the OS, but to activate it, you will either have to manually edit the application code or use the Windhawk mod. It’s also worth noting that third-party “hacks” are generally not recommended for enabling hidden features. Therefore, you can try Windhawk solely at your own peril and risk, or better, only on a virtual machine.
