WhatsApp has new features: instant calls and complaints about specific messages

Published

WhatsApp has been working hard recently to improve features and security measures for the popular instant messaging platform. Now complaints about messages and instant calls have been added.

Users can now report WhatsApp accounts by flagging a specific message with a new feature. You can press and hold a specific message to report it or block the user. This feature saves you a few taps when it comes to blocking a user. Complaints about messages can be useful in combating spam, harassment, unwanted SMS, illegal or criminal messages. In its latest report, WhatsApp says more than 2.2 million accounts were blocked in September alone.

Instant calls (Flash call) allows Android users who install or reinstall WhatsApp on their devices to check their phone number using an automatic call instead of SMS. WhatsApp claims this is a much safer option as everything happens inside the app.

WhatsApp also recently got disappearing messages and the ability to hide your last visit from certain people in your contact list. In addition, the user will now be able to see notifications about reactions to messages.

It also introduces a feature that removes the need to connect your smartphone to the network to use the messaging platform on other devices.

Because this is a preview, developers are not yet able to submit widget-enabled apps to the Microsoft Store. Accordingly, users cannot simply find applications with widgets right now.

Musk’s lawyers are pushing for the deal to be canceled in Delaware court, scheduled for October 17, in order to raise the necessary funding without hindrance and complete it as early as October 28.

Surprisingly, they (Twitter) are insisting on continuing this lawsuit, recklessly putting the deal at risk and putting the interests of their shareholders at risk.

Elon Musk accused Twitter of recklessness: the company intends to continue to sue

In April, Musk offered $44 billion for Twitter, but then demanded to check the company’s data that the number of fake accounts used, among other things, to send spam, did not exceed 5%. According to Musk, the social network underestimated the number of such accounts, and also did not provide sufficient information when requested. He was also dissatisfied with the personnel policy of the company. Later, on July 8, Musk notified Twitter that he was refusing to buy it. The social network filed a lawsuit against the businessman in a Delaware court.

The other day, Elon Musk said that the purchase of Twitter is “an accelerator for creating X, an application for everything.” The service may be very similar to WeChat, the Chinese super app that the billionaire openly admired and grew out of a mini-internet messaging service with a billion user base.

The head of the Zecurion analytical center, Vladimir Ulyanov, said that the words of Telegram founder Pavel Durov about the dangers of using WhatsApp are PR for his messenger, and also added that such statements should be treated with a certain degree of skepticism.

Any programs that we use, both for ordinary users and corporate ones, are all vulnerable in one way or another. If now we do not know about the existence of any vulnerabilities, this does not mean that they do not exist at all.

Pavel Durov's statement about the danger of WhatsApp called the head of the analytical center Zecurion a fight with a competitor

Vladimir Ulyanov said that messenger vulnerabilities always have a human factor, and their detection is a matter of time.

You should not assume that there is one messenger that is absolutely unique in terms of device and security, and the other is full of holes and bad, and you should not use it. No, this statement is rather made within the framework of competition.

The head of the Zecurion analytical center also noted that in any application there are settings that allow you to increase its security level. He reminded that you should not follow dubious links sent from an unknown addressee.
