The team of the popular WhatsApp messenger has released an update to the version for iOS, which brings several innovations at once. One of the innovations was a tool for creating stickers. With it, iPhone users can create stickers right in the WhatsApp app, without having to download stickers from somewhere else.

The latest WhatsApp update 23.7.82 is currently available for all supported iPhones. After installing the update, you can start using the sticker maker and other features. The tool itself is quite simple and uses the iPhone’s photo editing tools. The developers promise: “Now with Apple Photos you can create your own stickers by cutting out objects from photos.”

The procedure is:

  • Open any photo on iPhone, press and hold the object you want to make a sticker.
  • A small pop-up window will appear, click “Select”
  • Go to WhatsApp and open any chat.
  • Paste an image into the text field and it will be sent as stickers.
  • The sticker can be added to favorites from the chat.

There are currently no additional customization tools. Thus, you can only copy and paste the image, without adding text or sketches. WhatsApp is expected to provide more customization options in the future.

WhatsApp also increased the maximum number of group members to 1024 people. It’s also easier to see which groups a user’s contacts belong to. Another feature added in the update is the ability for group admins to control who joins their groups.
