Technology does not stand still. Almost every week, major manufacturers release several models of smartphones, in different price ranges. Somewhere the chipset is better, somewhere the camera, less often, some new technology is used. Here is a list of the most notable ones.
Faster wired / wireless charging.
In 2020, VIVO and Xiaomi introduced 120W wired charging technology. It can fully charge the 4000mAh battery in 20 minutes. Another surprise from smartphone makers was the development of powerful wireless fast charging OPPO 40W, Xiaomi 50W, Huawei 50W and Meizu 27W.
Sub-screen camera technology.
For the first time this technology was massively applied in smartphones ZTE AXON 20. Most recently, global sales of this smartphone started. Despite the relatively poor image quality, the subscreen camera works as intended. So in 2021 we are expecting more smartphones with a “miracle camera”.
Smartphones with a retractable screen.
The OPPO X 2021 Concept Phone is a revolutionary design and engineering solution. Instead of developing foldable displays, OPPO took a step further and decided to make roll-up displays. The technology is still in development and will not be available for mass production anytime soon. But the idea itself is good.
The above technologies are just the tip of the iceberg. If you wish, you can independently familiarize yourself with the source.

The long-awaited Always-On Display in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will allow you to display widgets from the lock screen
All the latest data indicates that at least the older smartphones of the iPhone 14 line will receive Always-On Display support.
According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the Always-On Display on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models will allow new widgets created for the lock screen to be displayed on the screen.
This means that not only the clock can be displayed on the off screen, but also the calendar, unread messages, weather forecast, stock quotes, and so on. All that is in the form of widgets for the lock screen. How it will be possible to interact with such data in Always-On Display mode is still unknown.
The older models of the new generation, we recall, are credited with 120 Hz screens that are capable of reducing the frame rate to 1 Hz. This will allow smartphones to consume battery power very economically in Always-On Display mode.
Unique on the outside and simple on the inside. Nothing Phone (1) specs leaked before announcement
Although the new Nothing Phone (1) smartphone is already available for pre-order in India, the developers have not yet confirmed its specifications.
Nothing is said to be in talks with Reliance Digital to sell the Nothing Phone (1) in its retail stores. The expected characteristics of the device were also published.
Nothing Phone (1) will receive a FullHD + OLED screen with support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It will be built on the basis of a Snapdragon 778G + single-chip system, the amount of RAM will be 8 GB.
The main camera will be equipped with image sensors with a resolution of 50 and 16 megapixels, the front camera will be 16 megapixels. The battery capacity will be 4500 mAh, it will support 45-watt charging.
The smartphone will run on the Android 12 operating system with the Nothing OS shell and proprietary Glyph Interface installed.
The presentation of Nothing Phone (1) is expected on July 12th.
The first smartphone based on Dimensity 9000+ will receive 200-watt charging. Details about iQOO 10
According to the latest information released by trusted source Digital Chat Station, the iQOO 10 will be the first phone based on the single cryo-published Dimensity 9000+ system.
The Mediatek platform was only announced last week as an improved version of the Dimensity 9000. It has a slight CPU and GPU performance boost, as well as some improvements. The high-performance Cortex-X2 core operates at clock speeds up to 3.2GHz. The Taiwanese manufacturer promised that the first devices with this platform will be released in the third quarter.
According to previous reports, iQOO 10 should also use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 SoC. It seems that iQOO is going to release two versions of the new flagships, offering the customer the choice.
The iQOO 10 is also expected to support 200W ultra-fast charging technology, which will fully charge the battery in just 12 minutes. This will be a new record.
The iQOO 10 will reportedly use a side-curved LTPO 2K screen with 120Hz refresh rate support and a large-area ultrasonic fingerprint under the screen. The main camera will be 50 megapixels.
Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately announce the specifications and release dates of Redmi K50 and Xiaomi 12.
