Sony Santa Monica’s Corey Barlog apologized for fans having to “avoid spoilers” after retailers began premature sales of God of War Ragnarok.

The Sony exclusive releases on November 9th, but some players got it earlier and are sharing screenshots, videos, and spoilers about the game’s key plot twists.

“The store sells the game almost two weeks before release. It’s so disappointing. You know, right now I can really understand the benefits of having just the installer on the physical drive,” Corey Barlog tweeted.

“What you have to do is fucking stupid,” Sony apologized to fans for having to avoid God of War Ragnarok spoilers

We apologize to everyone that you need to avoid spoilers if you don’t want to spoil the experience. That you should be doing this is fucking stupid. This is not at all what any of us at Sony Santa Monica would want.

Earlier, The Washington Post published a preview of the new game God of War Ragnarok, which was originally announced as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, and later also announced for the PlayStation 4.

The author of the preview confirms God of War Ragnarok is very similar to a PlayStation 4 game ported to the PlayStation 5. He also added that it’s clear that it doesn’t take full advantage of Sony’s cutting-edge technology.
