OnePlus took advantage of this first month of the year to unveil its new product launch calendar. From smartphones to high-end televisions, including headphones… the brand plans to market different types of equipment around the world, starting in the first half of 2022.

Starting with the OnePlus Nord CE 2 which is rumored to be coming to India soon. From February, it will be possible to obtain this 5G smartphone, characterized by its rectangular dorsal photo module in which three sensors are housed. Even if this model is not the best of the best, with its plastic casing, its 6.4 inch screen and its frequency of 90 Hz, it should be appreciated for its affordable price.

Among its advantages, however, we note its 12 GB RAM and its MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor which will certainly guarantee extraordinary performance in all circumstances.

Next, the Nord N20 5G in Europe…

Surely you have already heard of the fact that Oneplus was working on the launch of this model? Now, the brand has claimed that the Nord N20 5G could well be marketed in Europe as early as February. The leaks also hint that this smartphone could integrate a processor provided by MediaTek.

Even though the design of the Nord N20 5G seems inspired by the iPhone 13 or the Oppo Reno 6 Pro, it will have its own strengths. For this, it is possible to mention its 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, its Snapdragon 695 processor, its triple rear camera (48+8+2 megapixels) and its 16-megapixel front camera. In addition, rumors evoke the presence of a LiPo battery compatible with fast charging at 30W. And as its suggests, the terminal will be compatible with 5G.

For further…

We have just cited a few examples of products that the manufacturer plans to launch in the first half of 2022. But OnePlus does not intend to stop there. The brand aims to conquer the global market with its OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone. As a reminder, the latter is equipped with a 6.7-inch screen. Among its other features, we can also mention its 120 Hz refresh rate, its triple camera (48 + 50 + 8 megapixels) and its powerful 5000 mAh battery.

In the process, the Chinese manufacturer plans to sell new smart TVs, neckband and wireless headphones in the four corners of the globe. Note, however, that OnePlus has not yet tested its range of smart TVs in the US market. This time, let’s wait to see if she will try to try her luck in the country of Uncle Sam or not.

Xiaomi is preparing a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z

Xiaomi is apparently working on a foldable smartphone that resembles the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 in design. The corresponding patent was posted on the website of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The patent application includes sketches of the device both open and closed. Judging by these images, when folded, the smartphone will be very compact.

The sketches also show a horizontal camera module (reminiscent of the Google Pixel 6 camera) with three holes for sensors. However, one of them may well be designed for LED flash. The speaker holes, the SIM card slot and the USB Type C connector are located on the bottom end, and the power button and volume control are visible on the right side. According to the sketches, it is not clear what the front camera of the new Xiaomi clamshell will be. Perhaps the company will decide to use camera technology under the display (Camera Under Panel, CUP), like Xiaomi MIX Fold.

Will PlayStation have fewer exclusives? Sony plans to release half of its PlayStation Studios games on PC and smartphones

Will PlayStation have fewer exclusives Sony plans to release half

Sony has outlined its immediate plans for the game for PC and mobile platforms.

Will PlayStation have fewer exclusives? Sony plans to release half of its PlayStation Studios games on PC and smartphones

CEO Jim Ryan said that Sony plans to have half of the games created by its internal studios in fiscal year 2025, including on PC and smartphones.

That is, only 50% of the games will remain exclusive, while the rest will be available to a much larger number of gamers. This is similar to Phil Spencer’s position on the Xbox.

From the chart, you can see that the share of PCs will still be higher than the share of smartphones, which should please gamers who prefer large single-player games. The share of Sony games on smartphones is now about 10%, and in three years it should double. In the case of the PC, there is no exact data, but the share of such projects will not grow so significantly.

Will PlayStation have fewer exclusives? Sony plans to release half of its PlayStation Studios games on PC and smartphones

Most likely, the big story games for the most part, as now, will be released only on the PlayStation, and will migrate to the PC years later. What kind of games will be released on PC and smartphones? Judging by Ryan’s statement, including game-services. It turns out that Sony is now working on 12 such projects at once. According to the head of PlayStation, if at least some of these projects become successful, it will greatly transform the company’s business structure.

Historically, PlayStation Studios has done an excellent job of building a vast portfolio of single-player games with rich storytelling and beautiful graphics, but we’ve certainly limited ourselves to a fairly narrow section of the gaming market.

By expanding into PCs and mobile devices, and, it must be said, into online services, we have the opportunity to move from a very narrow segment of the overall gaming software market to a presence almost everywhere.

For example, I would say that if we manage to make some of the 12 service games that we develop at PlayStation Studios… if only some of them are commercially successful, then the impact of this will completely transform our business structure over time.

Given the success of Sony games on PC, it’s no surprise that the share of such games will continue to grow. As for the mobile segment, it has long occupied more than half of the entire gaming industry in terms of money. By the way, we recall that the first of the PlayStation 5 exclusives may soon be released on the PC.

The new version costs $ 160, of course, in many respects inferior to the older one, but not in everything. For example, the same battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh is installed here, only the older version has a 10-watt charge, while the younger one has a very decent 33-watt charge for this segment.

In almost all other respects, smartphones are identical, except that the new version has a screen with support for only 60 Hz. At the same time, this is the same IPS panel with a diagonal of 6.56 inches with HD + resolution.

The smartphone has the same 13 MP camera, the same design, the same Android 12 out of the box. Another difference is that the $235 A57 5G offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of flash, while the A57 4G only has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of flash.
