What can a stripped-down RTX 3050 with a TDP of just 25W and a USB-C connection do? ADLink Pocket AI tests appeared

ADLink has a very unusual product in its range: an external Pocket AI video card. It was introduced back in April, and now tests of this solution have appeared on the Web.

The novelty relies on the GA107 GPU, like the RTX 3050, has 2048 CUDA cores, 4 GB of GDDR6 memory, a 64-bit memory bus and a TDP of only 25 watts. The last factor, of course, greatly limits the capabilities of the graphics core. At the same time, despite such a modest power consumption, the adapter is not only equipped with an active cooling system with a fairly large radiator, but also requires additional power through a separate USB-C port.

The device is initially positioned not at all for games, although it can certainly also be used for them. But the authors of the review from StorageReview did not test the game.

As you can see, in professional tasks, the external graphics card outperforms the Intel Xe iGPU with 96 compute units by 2-4 times. At the same time, a full-fledged desktop Nvidia A5000 Laptop is 2.5-3.5 times faster than the novelty.

For Pocket AI, they ask for $430, which is not much by the standards of external video cards, but the performance here is very modest. At the same time, the GPD G1 was recently announced, which is based on the Radeon RX 7600. In games, this solution is definitely many times more productive, but the retail price will be almost twice as high.

Neither in Blender nor in V Ray can the new Core

The results of testing the Core i9-14900K processor in tasks that can actually load modern multi-core processors have appeared on the Internet.

Neither in Blender nor in V-Ray can the new Core i9-14900K outperform the “old” Ryzen 9 7950X

In Blender, the new product scores almost 560 points, which is 6% more than the Core i9-13900KS. This is good considering that these are technically identical CPUs. The new product is already 8% ahead of its direct predecessor, the Core i9-13900K. However, the Ryzen 9 7950X is still a little faster.

In V-Ray, the new Intel flagship showed a result of 27,790 points, ahead of the Core i9-13900KS by 5% and its predecessor by 8%. But here again the AMD flagship is ahead.

Of course, it was clear in advance that Raptor Lake Refresh would only be a very minor update (except for the Core i7, which will get more cores), but now we can verify this not only through the results from Geekbench.

Is an entire era of Samsung coming to an end

The Samsung Galaxy S24, as we have already seen today, will be practically no different in appearance from the Galaxy S23. Now it has become clear that the same applies to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The same insider Steve Hemmerstoffer, known under the pseudonym Onleaks, also shared renderings of the older model of Samsung’s new flagship line. And here, too, it is very difficult to detect any differences.

In fact, they will be, but they will either not affect the appearance at all, or very slightly. For example, a titanium frame does not change the appearance of the smartphone. But you can see that the side edges will become even less curved than in the current generation, although they will not be completely flat.

In addition, judging by the images, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a flat screen. The glass itself is curved very slightly, but the screen looks like it will be completely flat. If so, then the Galaxy S24 Ultra will end the era of Samsung flagships and curved screens, which began with the Galaxy S6 Edge in 2015.
