Volkswagen has unveiled a sportier version of the ID.4 electric crossover. The automaker used the GTX brand, already familiar to motorists from the faster, sportier versions of the Jetta, Scirocco and Golf.
The Volkswagen ID.4 GTX model has two electric motors, one for each axle, which provide a combined power of 299 horsepower. The electric car can accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds – an adequate time for a practical and affordable five-passenger crossover.
For comparison, a Tesla Model Y with two electric motors accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 215 km / h. Up to 60 km / h Volkswagen ID.4 GTX can accelerate in 3.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 180 km / h.
Power is supplied by a 77 kWh battery, the same as in the standard configuration. Compared to the original model, the GTX’s range is reduced to 480 km in the WLTP cycle, while the regular ID.4 is capable of 520 km.
In Europe, the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX will arrive in the summer of 2021. Prices start at 50,415 euros.
Honda showed its first electric crossover Prologue. But it will only be released in 2024.
Honda, like many other Japanese brands, is far behind its European competitors when it comes to electrifying their cars. The company already has a Honda e, and now the manufacturer has unveiled its first electric crossover, the Prologue. True, the car will enter the market only in 2024.
Whatever it was, so far we have only one official image. The crossover on it is not very similar to the current Honda models. The source says that Prologue is a joint development of the Japanese giant and GM, but no details yet. It is likely that the Prologue and some General Motors electric cars will have a common platform.
Honda plans to introduce 30 new electric vehicle models by 2030 and expects sales of 2 million units. After launching the Prologue in 2024, Honda plans to begin production of new electric vehicles based on its e:Architecture architecture in 2026, and in 2027 it will have affordable electric vehicles also co-developed with GM.
“I will vote Republican.” Musk lashes out at Democrats over Tesla’s exclusion from S&P 500 ESG index
Tesla was excluded from the S&P 500 ESG at the beginning of the month, but most people only knew about it now that Elon Musk decided to speak out about it.
ExxonMobil ranks in the top 10 in the world in the S&P 500 ESG Index, while Tesla didn’t make it! ESG is a scam. It was used as a weapon by fake social justice fighters.
The fact is that the S&P 500 ESG is an index that takes into account the environmental and social performance of companies. And Musk was obviously hurt that the huge oil company ExxonMobil was on the list, and Tesla was decided to be excluded. And there are even official reasons for the exclusion: Tesla has no strategy to reduce carbon emissions, no code of business conduct, and the company has also been accused of racism and poor working conditions.
But Musk did not stop at one statement.
I’ve voted Democrats in the past because they were (mostly) the goodness party. But they have become a party of division and hatred, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now watch their dirty campaign against me unfold
This is a much more serious statement, since many of Musk’s supporters are his supporters precisely because of his political views. Immediately, Musk made it clear that he changed them. This has already cost Tesla about $40 billion in capitalization, as the company’s shares fell immediately after the publication of its head.
Introduced two-seater Squad electric car with a solar battery
Electric vehicle startup Squad Mobility has announced a two-seater electric car with a rooftop solar panel.
The name Squad stands for Solar Quad and the car will debut in Europe in 2023 with a starting price of 6,250 euros.
This is a compact solar powered electric car that has a fairly simple design and is positioned as an affordable electric car. It will get large windows, removable doors, stylish wheels and a solar panel on the roof. The solar battery will allow to overcome up to 20 km a day. The car also has a replaceable battery, allowing you to increase the range to about 100 km. The Squad’s battery can be charged from common household outlets, adding to its versatility.
The interior of the Squad is very simple, but the cabin has a digital instrument panel, as well as a climate control system. Two rear electric motors deliver up to 5 hp. and a top speed of 45 km/h.
The company says it is also developing a four-seater solar-powered electric vehicle, but no release date has been given.
