Details of Vivo’s flagship X70 series smartphones have appeared online, and now there is a complete picture of the single-chip systems that the creators have chosen for these models. The SoC set can be described as a complete variety: here and the Exynos 1080 from Samsung, and MediaTek Dimensity 1200, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus.

Vivo X70 and Vivo X70 Pro

Vivo X70 Pro + is built on the most powerful single-chip system. Along with Snapdragon 888 Plus, this model received a Samsung E5 AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 6.78 inches with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels with a built-in fingerprint scanner and an embedded 32-megapixel camera, 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 flash memory, a 4500 battery mAh with support for 55W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The main camera is represented by four modules. The main one is with a 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 sensor and an F / 1.57 aperture lens. The second module contains a Sony IMX598 sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens and four-axis stabilization. The third module has a 12-megapixel sensor with a portrait lens, and the fourth module is a periscope camera with an 8-megapixel sensor and optical stabilization, providing 5x optical zoom. Dimensions and weight of Vivo X70 Pro + – 164.54 x 75.21 x 8.89 mm and 209 grams. The OS is Android 11 with the Funtouch OS 11.1 interface (in all three models).

The Vivo X70 and X70 Pro have a lot in common. They received 6.56-inch AMOLED screens with a resolution of 2376 x 1080 pixels with a frame rate of 120 Hz, built-in finger scanners and embedded cameras with a resolution of 32 megapixels. RAM – 8 or 12 GB, UFS 3.1 flash memory – up to 256 GB. 44W wired charging is also supported.

And then – the differences. Vivo X70 Pro received a 4450 mAh battery, Samsung Exynos 1080 platform, the main camera is represented by sensors with a resolution of 50 Mp (Samsung GN1, with optical stabilization), 12 Mp (with an ultra wide-angle lens and macro mode), 12 Mp (with a portrait lens) and 8 Mp (as part of the periscope module). Dimensions and weight – 158.3 x 73.21 x 7.99 mm and 185 grams.

The base Vivo X70 is slightly lighter (181 grams) and has a 4400 mAh battery. The dimensions of this model are 160.1 x 75.39 x 7.55 mm. The smartphone is equipped with two platforms: Samsung Exynos 1080 and MediaTek Dimensity 1200. It is possible that this was done due to the general shortage of single-chip systems on the market. The main camera is represented by three modules: mainly – a Sony IMX776 sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels with optical stabilization, a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and another 12-megapixel one with a portrait lens.

The official premiere of the Vivo X70 family will take place on September 9. The smartphones of the series will use Zeiss optics, as indicated by the logo on the camera units, as well as a proprietary V1 image processor.

Pros and cons of iPhone 13. What they write about news from CNN, Engadget, Wired and other specialized publications

Published

on

After the first review of the iPhone 13 Pro by The Verge, excerpts from which we have already published, reviews of CNN, Engadget, Wired and other authoritative publications appeared on the Web.

Reviewers are praising the smartphone’s improved cameras and display, dropping 64GB and upgrading to 128GB of flash storage. They also agree on their criticism of Lighting, whereas most of the iPad lineup now uses USB-C.

Also, all reviews confirm the increased battery life that iPhone users have long dreamed of. All models of the new line began to work longer. In particular, the iPhone 13 mini began to work much longer: if last year’s iPhone 12 mini was discharged by lunchtime, then the iPhone 13 mini can work all day, albeit with “light use.” That being said, the iPhone 13 can last up to two days, which is really impressive.

As for the display, there are pros and cons. CNN notes improvements in maximum brightness that make the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini easier to use in bright environments. However, they do not support 120Hz refresh rates. This feature is only available on the iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max. Wired also praises 120 hertz displays, which are adaptive to efficiently save power.

New smartphones take great pictures, but revolutionary changes should not be expected. Wired writes that smartphones are “still excellent” in photography, although the WSJ warns that iPhone 12 owners probably shouldn’t change their smartphones. Differences between photos taken with iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 are difficult to notice, although if you have an iPhone XR or iPhone 11 then replacing them with an iPhone 13 would be more logical.

At this stage, the cinematic mode seems to be more of a curiosity than a real “professional” feature. The Verge notes that it is fun to experiment with, but also warns, “It seems like it has a few years before it really becomes useful for anything other than casual use.” The WSJ criticized this video mode, claiming that it is difficult to distinguish the edges of objects.

As a result, most reviewers agree that the owners of the iPhone 12 are unlikely to change their smartphones, but the rest of the iPhone 13 fans will definitely like it very much.

Xiaomi Civi will still be a completely new smartphone. It will receive a 108 megapixel sensor like the Galaxy S21 Ultra

Yesterday we wrote that Xiaomi is preparing a new line of smartphones – Civi. The new items are expected to replace the CC series in China. Yesterday it was said that the renamed Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE will be the first device of the Civi series, but today the data is different. Firstly, the device was lit live in a video, and screenshots (they are of poor quality, but still) indicate that the Civi is an independent model. Secondly, the details about the camera say the same.

The very last screenshot shows that the Xiaomi Civi camera unit is in the shape of a rectangle, not a square with rounded corners like the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. It looks more like a Xiaomi 11T or Poco M3 Pro camera unit. The front panel is also not like the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE – with a camera embedded in the center of the screen, and not in the corner.

And the most important thing is the camera image sensor. If Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE has 64-megapixel, then Civi is assigned a 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM3 sensor – exactly the same one used in the Galaxy S21 Ultra! But the cost of the Civi will clearly be less than that of the current flagship Samsung. In general, the new data gives hope that the Civi will turn out to be a stand-alone model and will continue the traditions laid down in the Mi Note 10 Pro (Mi CC9 Pro) – a popular mid-range camera phone. Recall that the official premiere of Xiaomi Civi will take place on September 27.

Samsung Galaxy S22 was visually compared with Galaxy S21 and iPhone 13. So far, the comparison is only in the pictures.

According to all available data, the Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone will be smaller than its predecessor and, in general, will become one of the most compact flagships of 2022.

The well-known insider Ice Univerce clearly compared the dimensions of the Galaxy S22 with both the older models of the line and the Galaxy S21 and iPhone 13.

Samsung Galaxy S22 was visually compared with Galaxy S21 and iPhone 13. So far, the comparison is only in the pictures.

As you can see, the Galaxy S22 will be significantly smaller than the Galaxy S21 and slightly more compact than the iPhone 13. In the latter case, the Samsung flagship will be slightly lower and slightly narrower, which is explained, among other things, by a slightly smaller screen: 6.06 versus 6.1 inches.

Why Samsung decided to downsize the base flagship at a time when everyone, on the contrary, is trying to increase screen diagonals is unclear, but some of the buyers will obviously like it.
