“Video card” with a price in excess of $36,000. The first Nvidia H100 lit up in a Japanese store
A month ago, Nvidia introduced the H100 accelerator based on the new Hopper architecture. This is a solution with 80 GB of memory, 18,432 CUDA cores (of which 15,872 are active) and a performance of 60 TFLOPS.
Of course, this is, firstly, a specialized accelerator for servers and supercomputers, and secondly, this is the latest top-level solution. And such a product can not cost a little. And she’s worth a lot.
In Japan, they ask for a novelty of 36,445 dollars, including taxes. It is difficult to say how expensive it is or not, given the specificity of the device. It is not yet possible to compare prices, since no one else has added a card to their assortment yet. And the reason is simple: Nvidia H100 has not yet entered the market – this will happen only in the second half of the year.
However, it is still possible to compare prices indirectly. The same store previously added an Instinct MI210 accelerator to the site, priced at $16,500. Yes, Nvidia’s solution is more productive, but not twice as much. In particular, the performance with single precision (FP32) of the new AMD is 45.3 TFLOPS, and the PCIe 5.0 H100 is 48 TFLOPS.

ASRock, Gainward, and Inno3D easily outperformed MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte, while Sapphire was among the worst. Statistics of warranty claims for video cards appeared

One of the largest Swiss retailers of computer equipment, Digitec, shared some interesting statistics regarding warranty cases for various devices and various manufacturers.
For example, you can see that for video cards, ASRock, Gainward and Inno3D are the best in this indicator, which is quite curious, given that these are generally brands aimed at the budget conscious buyer. The same MSI score is six times higher than ASRock, and the worst are Sapphire and XFX. At the same time, Sapphire is the best when it comes to the terms of the settlement of warranty obligations: the company copes on average in just three days, many times ahead of its competitors.
In the case of motherboards, firstly, in general, there are more warranty claims, and secondly, MSI and Asus are already the best here.
However, the situation with the timing of the consideration of guarantee applications cannot be projected onto other countries, while the indicators regarding the frequency of these applications can even be kept in mind, regardless of the country.

AMD wants to make Ryzen 7000 motherboards even cheaper. The company will release two versions of the A620 chipset

AMD can prepare not only the budget A620 chipset, but also its even more affordable version.
Resource HKEPC claims that the A620 will be available in two versions. The Promontory 21 version will appear first, and later another version will come out, possibly on Promontory 22. Since Promontory 21 itself is used in more expensive motherboards, it is not well suited for budget models. And the cheaper Promontory 22 will allow manufacturers to produce more affordable boards.
Technically, there should be no difference from the user’s point of view. AMD has previously promised motherboards for the AM5 platform starting at $125, but so far the minimum prices for models based on the B650 chipset start at about $160.
