Now Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed new details on this matter. He says that the decision to use different single-chip systems within the same line is most likely a marketing and / or financial one.

The analyst speculates that the Cupertino-based tech giant is trying to create more differentiation between standard and pro iPhones, and is also trying to keep costs low by using older-generation SoCs in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models.

It has also been reported that while all iPhone 14 series models will have 6GB of RAM, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models will have LPDDR4X RAM. On the other hand, the Pro models will have LPDDR5 RAM, which will make an even bigger difference.

Apple is expected to launch four iPhone models this year, including the Apple iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 and 14 Pro will feature a 6.1-inch display, while the 14 Max and 14 Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch screen.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 also supports LPDDR5 memory up to 16GB, Full HD screens up to 144Hz and QHD at 60Hz, while the Spectra image processor supports cameras up to 200MP and 4K video recording with HDR support.

The first smartphones with this SoC should be out in a few weeks. Earlier there were rumors that these will be Oppo devices.
