Up to 240 km per charge for fast, clean delivery. Amazon takes Rivian electric trucks to the streets of San Francisco

Amazon announced last month that by the end of this year, the company will begin using new electric delivery trucks in 16 US cities. The new vans are designed and manufactured by startup Rivian.

The company has previously started using these new trucks in Los Angeles. Now Amazon has brought electric trucks to the streets of San Francisco. Initially, the vehicles will pass test routes from the delivery station in Richmond, and then eventually expand to other regions.

Electric vans can travel up to 240 km without recharging. Amazon has already begun preparing its van spaces and adding thousands of charging stations at delivery centers across North America and Europe.

Earlier Amazon announced its readiness to buy 100,000 electric trucks from Rivian, in which Amazon is one of the main investors. It’s part of the e-commerce giant’s overall strategy to promote the environment.

Electric vehicle startup Rivian has been operating in stealth mode since 2009 and only launched its pickups and SUVs in November 2018. The company was founded with the goal of launching a Tesla Roadster rival, and then moved on to manufacturing SUVs and pickups.

A team of astronomers from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan used the NOEMA (Northern Extended Millimeter Array) submillimeter telescope in France to discover this distant galaxy. As a result, scientists have found that it contains a huge amount of dust.

The dust absorbs the blue waves of starlight while letting through the red waves. This means that a dusty galaxy can mimic high redshift galaxies. Taking this into account, the team calculated that CEERS-DSFG-1 formed just 12.5 billion years ago.

Additional evidence for this theory was provided by a team of astronomers from the Harvard Center for Astrophysics. They also concluded that CEERS-DSFG-1 mimics the record-breaking galaxy. They also found that all of the nearest neighbors of CEERS-DSFG-1 are a young protocluster of galaxies, and CEERS-DSFG-1 is at the center of this cluster.

It is assumed that the Radeon RX 7900 XT will be built on the Navi 31 GPU, consisting of one GCD module (the equivalent of CCD in Ryzen processors) with 12,288 stream processors and six MCD modules – each with 16 MB of third-level cache (Infinity Cache) and 64 -bit memory controller. In total, this gives 96 MB of cache memory and a 384-bit bus, but the use of bulk packaging technology will allow each MCD to place another cache chip, as a result, the total volume of Infinity Cahce will be 192 MB.

This is the full Navi 31 configuration, but there will also be a stripped-down version – with 10,752 stream processors and five MCDs – with 160 MB of Infinity Cache and a 320-bit bus. Such a GPU could form the basis of the Radeon RX 7800 XT.

Navi 32 is another contender for the Radeon RX 7800 XT (or more likely the Radeon RX 7800). It predicts the presence of 7680 stream processors, a 256-bit bus and 64 MB of Infinity Cache (there will be no additional cache memory chips). Finally, the Radeon RX 7700 XT can get a monolithic Navi 33 GPU with 4096 stream processors and 32 MB Infinity Cahce and a 128-bit bus.
