Up to 100% in 19 minutes: Xiaomi introduced the fastest wireless charging

Despite the active development of technology in the smartphone market, the batteries of mobile devices have remained practically unchanged for many years, even decades. The manufacturer can only increase the volume of the battery itself, thereby increasing the physical dimensions of the gadget, or reduce the time required to charge the battery. Actually, all manufacturers have recently focused on the last point – charging is getting faster every year, and the engineers of Xiaomi, the largest electronics manufacturer from China, decided to go even further, presenting the fastest wireless charging in the world.

It is worth noting that Xiaomi began to introduce wireless charging technology in 2018 – then the Xiaomi Mix 2S smartphone with support for 7.5W wireless charging was introduced. And already this year, the manufacturer started talking about 40W wireless charging, which instantly attracted public attention. Now the manufacturer said that it already has a fully-fledged 80W wireless charger, which allows you to charge a 4000 mAh smartphone battery by 50% in 8 minutes and 100% in 19 minutes. The work of the new product was demonstrated on the Mi 10 Pro smartphone – the device really charges up to 100% in the specified time.

True, Xiaomi decided not to disclose the technical features of charging, and they did not say anything about the operating conditions of the new items either. For example, users are interested in the issue of heating the smartphone with such a fast wireless charging method. And, of course, the representatives of the Chinese giant decided not to talk about the cost of this wireless charging, as well as when it goes on sale – so far this is only a demonstration gadget. Perhaps it will still be finalized, or the manufacturer is currently engaged in deeper testing of the novelty.
