Ulefone Armor 8 5G will be the world’s first “armored” smartphone with support for fifth generation networks

The Chinese company Ulefone is quite famous for its Armor series rugged smartphones, which offer rather advanced technical characteristics in an “indestructible” case. The company today released a teaser for the Armor 8 5G device, which will be the world’s first fifth-generation smartphone in a shock-resistant case.

The video demonstrates that Ulefone Armor 8 5G boasts a real speed of 443 Mbps for receiving and 114 Mbps for data transmission. The measurement was carried out in the network of the Chinese mobile operator China Telecom. It is worth noting that the design of the smartphone is no different from what we saw earlier in the basic version of Armor 8, which is content with LTE support. The new device is expected to boast a MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. The built-in storage capacity will be 128 GB. The diagonal Full HD + -display of the smartphone will be 6.7 inches, and the front camera will be located in the waterdrop-shaped notch at the top of it.

Recall that the title of the first protected smartphone with 5G support was previously assigned by Ulefone to its Armor 6 device, presented at the end of 2018, however, for unknown reasons, it ended up in the series without the support of fifth-generation networks. There is no information on the cost of the Armor 8 5G yet. For reference, the 4G version of Ulefone Armor 8, based on the MediaTek Helio P60 chip, costs $ 140 for the base version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The novelty should be more expensive, but only slightly.
