TWS headset sales up 90% in 2020

Strategy Analytics has provided preliminary results for the TWS headset market. This abbreviation stands for “True Wireless Stereo”, that is, those headsets, the headphones of which are not connected by a wire not only to the signal source, but also to each other.

So, analysts estimate that over 300 million Bluetooth headsets were sold in 2020. At the same time, sales in the TWS segment increased by almost 90% compared to 2019.

“TWS headsets have driven an increase in worldwide sales of Bluetooth headsets,” said Ken Hyers, director of Strategy Analytics, on the report. – While the pandemic briefly reduced demand during the first half of the year, sales rose sharply in the second half of the year. The move to work from home has benefited the entire Bluetooth headset category in terms of growing sales. ”

At the same time, analysts see great potential in the Bluetooth-headset market, since now less than one in ten people in the world have such a device.
