Two “magic” technologies for millions of gamers at once. AMD will introduce FSR 2.0 and finally make RSR available
AMD will indeed introduce FSR 2.0 technology this month. Moreover, this will happen in three days – on March 17th.
The name FSR 2.0 is mentioned on several AMD slides, which the source is not yet able to share. It also allegedly says that FSR 2.0 offers the best image quality in all modes and resolutions, but AMD does not say anything about performance. Unlike the current implementation, which relies on spatial scaling, FSR 2.0 will transition to temporal scaling like DLSS 2.0. At the same time, the AMD solution will continue to be universal and, in theory, compatible with any GPU.
FSR 2.0 will be launched in the second quarter. Which games will be the first to receive this technology is still unknown.
It is also reported that AMD will finally add RSR technology to the graphics driver, which it introduced at the end of last year. This is technically practically the same as the current iteration of FSR, but without the need to integrate the technology into a specific game. Instead, on supported graphics cards, RSR can be activated in any game directly from the driver. Users will have access to RSR on March 17th.

GeForce RTX 4090 is ready for Counter-Strike 2. The video card produces 543 FPS in the game

Almost immediately after the release of Counter-Strike 2, Nvidia explained what to expect in the game when using 3D cards from the GeForce RTX 40 line.
With Full HD resolution and maximum graphics settings, the flagship of the line – GeForce RTX 4090 – produces 543 FPS. Nvidia assured that the GeForce RTX 4090 in Counter-Strike 2 is 4.5 times faster than the GeForce GTX 1080 and 2.9 times faster than the GeForce RTX 2080.
At the other end is the GeForce RTX 4060, but even it provides more than 200 FPS under the same conditions. The performance gap between the GeForce RTX 4060 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is quite small, unlike other models in the line.

Game of Thrones sequel created on ChatGPT: George R.R. Martin and other authors are suing OpenAI

Various authors have sued OpenAI for copyright infringement. They accuse the company of using books to train AI models.
The Authors Guild and 17 famous authors such as Jonathan Franzen, John Grisham, George R.R. Martin and Jodi Picoult filed the lawsuit in the Southern District of New York. The plaintiffs hope the lawsuit will be classified as a class action.
According to the complaint, OpenAI “copied plaintiffs’ work wholesale, without permission or review” and fed copyrighted material into large language models.
“The earnings of these authors depend on the works they create. But defendant’s programs jeopardize the ability of science fiction writers to make a living because they allow anyone to create—automatically and freely (or very cheaply)—text that they would otherwise pay writers to create,” the lawsuit states.
The authors added that OpenAI’s programs could result in the creation of derivative works “that are based on, imitate, generalize, or paraphrase their books,” which could harm their market.
The lawsuit also alleges that ChatGPT was used by programmer Liam Swain to “write” sequels to George R.R. Martin’s bestselling novel A Song of Ice and Fire, which was adapted into the popular TV series Game of Thrones. Swain used a neural network to create his own versions of these books, which he posted online.
