Twitter’s current CEO, Elon Musk, said he plans to finalize the company’s restructuring this week and also appoint a new CEO. Musk himself wants to reduce his participation in the social network.
This decision is due to the concern of Tesla investors, who believe that the businessman spends too much time on Twitter. This is not the first initiative of its kind. It was revealed last week that Musk had chosen a candidate for the post of Tesla CEO, although he did not name him.
At the moment, it is not yet clear who will run Twitter and when this person will be introduced to the public.
At the same time, Musk had previously carried out numerous layoffs on the network, set an ultimatum to employees to switch to a “hardcore” work mode or quit, and also introduced other changes.
Among the latter is the possible emergence of end-to-end encryption of private messages on Twitter.
“This is another unspoken sign of disrespect,” the Twitter office equipped sleeping quarters for “hardcore” employees
According to Forbes, earlier this week, Twitter employees discovered several sleeping areas in the company’s San Francisco office. They were organized in conference rooms, where beds and bedside tables with lamps appeared.
The whistleblower and Twitter said employees were given no explanation for the change and suggested that the beds are for the remaining “hardcore” employees so they can stay overnight in the office. “This is another unspoken sign of disrespect. No one discussed this with us,” said one of the employees.
Last month, CEO Elon Musk gave the thousands of employees remaining at the company the option to leave or stay on the condition that they work hard under Twitter 2.0. Since taking over as owner and CEO, Musk has fired at least half of Twitter’s employees, with many leaving of their own accord.
Another source, who wished to remain anonymous, suggested that there could be “four to eight of these bedrooms per floor,” adding that “they look comfortable.”
One room’s trash bin was reportedly filled with trash, meaning someone had already slept there: “People are already working late into the night, so that kind of makes sense.”
According to Business Insider, the American billionaire and owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, brought quite a few people to the company, among whom were employees of his other companies and relatives.
We reported this morning that Elon Musk briefly lost his title as the richest man in the world on Wednesday, according to Forbes.
Google degrades in Google Photos the definition of the place where the photo was taken
Google has warned users about a new location policy for Google Photos (Google Photos).
Google Photos will stop using a user account’s location history to determine where specific pictures were taken, according to a new support document. This policy will apply to users who have opted out of sharing location data for the camera app for privacy reasons.
Until now, if you didn’t allow the camera app to use your current location, Google Photos used two methods to roughly estimate where you took the photo. First, the app will try to identify visible landmarks in your photos, and second, it will use your location history to narrow down the area.
However, now Google Photos will rely solely on trying to identify landmarks in photos. As you can easily guess, this method is noticeably less reliable.
Google notes that the change has already started rolling out to some Google Photos users, with a full rollout expected in the coming months.
