The Ural Automobile Plant demonstrated its first prototype of an electric truck equipped with a hybrid power plant.

A car with a 4×2 wheel formula is still called simply “Ural”. It is powered by an LNG engine that is used as a generator to charge a battery, which in turn powers an electric motor. At the moment, it is known that the power reserve is only 100 km, but in this case, we mean the ability of a car to drive such a distance solely due to the battery. Since the car is also equipped with an internal combustion engine, as a result, in general, the power reserve is quite worthy of 500 km.

The company is reportedly planning to develop an all-electric truck and then a hydrogen fuel cell version. But so far we are only talking about prototypes, but there is no data on serial machines with similar power plants.

Haval today announced the imminent premiere of the Haval Big Dog Hi4 SUV (aka second generation Dargo). The debut will take place on March 25, and prices will probably be revealed then. As for the characteristics and appearance, they have already been revealed.

According to the Chinese media, the Haval Big Dog Hi4 will be made in “fashionable power aesthetics” – this means the brutal design known from the Haval “dog family” crossovers and SUVs. In this case, the car will have a new radiator grille with a voluminous chrome pattern. The logo on a blue background indicates the hybrid nature of the crossover.

Inside, everything is typical Haval. The car will receive a digital dashboard with a 12.3-inch diagonal screen and a media system with a 14.6-inch diagonal screen, an “aviation” gear knob, a 9-inch head-up display and a number of level 2+ driver assistance systems. Among them are such interesting ones as “intelligent avoidance of large vehicles” (apparently for those who are afraid of overtaking trucks) and “intelligent detection of confusing forks.”

The length of the Haval Big Dog Hi4 is 4705 mm, the wheelbase is 2810 mm. Ground clearance is 200 mm, approach and departure angles are 24° and 30°, respectively. The hybrid has the ability to share the energy stored in the traction battery: the output power of the 220 V outlet is 3.3 kW.

This rarely happens, but the parameters of the power plant are already known now, before the official premiere. The Haval Big Dog Hi4 will have a three-motor setup with a 1.5-liter petrol engine under the hood and two electric motors. The total power of the power plant will be 378 hp, and consumption in hybrid mode (with a charged traction battery) will be only 1.83 l/100 km. Interestingly, through the settings it will be possible to set a variety of operating modes of the power plant: for example, switch from a parallel hybrid to a serial one or use only one of the electric motors.

The car is equipped with engines with a power of 183 and 230 kW. Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 5.46 seconds. CATL previously announced that the Exeed Exlantix ET will be the first vehicle to use a Shenxing battery. Exeed carried out a number of winter tests, such as freezing the entire car for 24 hours at -30°C and placing the battery in ice water for one hour, then drying it and installing it back on the car, after which the battery continued to function properly.

The Shenxing Superfast Charging battery was introduced last August during the CATL conference. It can provide a range of up to 700 km. According to CATL, despite the low-cost lithium iron phosphate (LFP) structure, it supports 4C charging, becoming the world's first 4C LFP battery. The multiplier next to C indicates how many times the battery can be charged in an hour. So 4C means the battery can be fully charged in 15 minutes, or four times per hour.

The GAC has started self copying Family crossover GAC GS4

Chinese manufacturer GAC has released a new crossover GS4 Max, positioned as a family car. However, upon closer examination, it turned out that the new product almost completely replicates another model of the brand – the youth GAC Emkoo.

GAC GS4 Max is built on the same platform as Emkoo, and the differences in dimensions between them are minimal. The length of the GS4 Max is 4685 mm versus 4680 mm for the Emkoo, the width is identical – 1901 mm, and the height difference is only 20 mm in favor of the GS4 Max (1690 mm). The wheelbase and trunk volume are the same for both models.

The main difference between the crossovers is the design: the GS4 Max is more discreet and calm, which corresponds to the positioning of the model as a family one. In the cabin, the difference is also minimal and lies in some elements, such as the transmission selector and the design of the ventilation deflectors.

As for the technical stuffing, the GAC GS4 Max has lost the top-end 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with 252 hp, available for Emkoo, and is offered only with a 177 hp 1.5 liter turbo engine paired with a 7-speed robot. In addition, the family crossover did not receive the hybrid version available for the youth model.

Otherwise, the equipment of the GAC GS4 Max is completely identical to the Emkoo and includes 8 airbags, L2 level autonomous driving systems, a panoramic roof, heated front seats, electrically adjustable driver's seat, multimedia with a large screen and voice control, as well as a digital instrument panel.
