The second M-Hero model, the M800, matches the M-Hero 917 in exterior styling with lots of chopped lines. But it has a smaller grille and larger overhangs. There is a platform for drones on the roof. It’s also larger than the M-Hero 917, measuring 5136 x 2172 x 2063mm (compared to the M-Hero 917’s 4987 x 2080 x 1935mm). But the wheelbase of these models is the same – 2950 mm. However, the M800 has a four-seat interior layout. This hints that it is not designed for off-road use, but for city trips with a driver.

The new SUV received approach and departure angles of 24 and 30 degrees. For M-Hero 917 they are 31 degrees each. The front and rear tracks of the M800 have the same width of 1755 mm. This SUV is equipped with 275/65 R20 wheels at the front and 295/60 R20 at the rear. Its curb weight is 3270 kg, and its gross weight is 3740 kg.

Under the hood of the M-Hero M800 is a 1.5-liter ICE petrol engine producing 197 hp. It does not transmit torque to the wheels, acting as a generator. The M800 will likely have the same powertrain as the M-Hero 917. It features three electric motors with a total output of 816 hp. They are powered by a battery pack (NMC) from CATL.

Volkswagen ID cars will now be able to provide your

Volkswagen has announced a new Vehicle to Home feature that adds bidirectional charging to electric ID models. This means VW’s electric vehicles will now be able to power an entire family for two days using the energy stored in their batteries.

This feature will be available for both new and existing vehicles via ID firmware. Software 3.5. The firmware is only compatible with ID models equipped with the 77 kWh battery, meaning that models with the smaller 58 kWh battery will not receive this feature. One more detail: bidirectional charging currently only works with the S10 E Compact DC home power station from HagerEnergy GmbH, although support for other devices will be added later.

According to Volkswagen, the average daily household energy consumption is around 30 kWh, meaning electric vehicles can potentially cover up to two days’ worth of electricity needs. In any case, the battery will not be discharged below 20%, so that the car will always remain in working order in case the owner needs it.

In combination with a home power station, an integrated Home Energy Management System (HEMS) from HagerEnergy GmbH and a solar panel system, the Vehicle to Home feature allows VW owners to supply their households with sustainable energy. This is possible if the EV battery is charged with solar energy and sends it back home when needed – for example, on cloudy days when the solar panels don’t work as efficiently.

The technology will be tested as part of a pilot project. Residents of the Stenberg housing estate near the Swedish town of Hudiksvall will be provided with electric cars and “appropriate charging infrastructure” so they can try out bidirectional charging and use sustainable energy.
