Toyota and Subaru will release an electric crossover on a common platform: what is known today

Toyota Subaru has joined forces to develop the all-electric Evoltis product. Subaru registered that name two years ago and the new car is expected to be unveiled at the 2021 Tokyo Auto Show.
What is known
Recently, some foreign media published a rendering of the Subaru Evoltis. The overall appearance matches the design idea of the concept car, but the production version differs in some details.
The new car uses a hexagonal radiator grille and the Subaru Hawkeye headlights look pretty futuristic. The body of the car uses bright contrasting colors, straight lines replace angular surfaces, and the wheel arches are accentuated by black inserts. This creates a good sporty atmosphere.
Unlike the concept car, the new car will receive conventional rear-view mirrors rather than cameras and traditional door handles and door frames.
Evoltis will be built on the e-TNGA platform (Toyota’s new global electronic platform), jointly developed by Subaru and Toyota. The platform can be flexible to provide front and rear wheel drive. For Subaru, the most important is the all-wheel drive configuration.
The car is reported to have a range of 300 miles (approximately 482.8 km, test conditions unknown), has twin-engine four-wheel drive and will be marketed in two versions with a maximum power of 160 and 300 kW.
According to Subaru’s official plan, electric vehicles will be added to all production lines by the end of 2025, and by 2030, electric or hybrid vehicles will account for over 40% of global sales. The goal is to reduce average carbon emissions by 90% by 2050.
