Tiny hidden sensor inside Apple HomePod mini will allow the device to become the center of the smart home

As you know, Apple abandoned the release of the HomePod smart speaker in favor of the HomePod mini model. And the last device, apparently, in the near future will be more interesting than it is now.

The fact is that a hidden temperature and humidity sensor was found inside the column. Of course, for a simple smart speaker, it is completely useless. However, sources say that Apple will later release a software update that will bring HomePod mini relevant new features related to the smart home system.

This will allow the company to strengthen its position in the relevant market, where it is now actively squeezing competitors Amazon and Google.

The said sensor, in particular, will allow HomePod mini to control various smart home devices related to temperature, humidity and other similar parameters. For example, turn on and off the heating, air conditioner or ventilation system.

The sensor itself is tiny. It measures only 1.5 x 1.5 mm and is manufactured by Texas Instruments.
