Japanese tech giant Sony Corporation has unveiled the Sony Wena 3 Ultraman Edition smartwatch, which will be limited to just 1,000 units. The watch is already available for pre-order on Sony’s Japanese site for about $523, but sales will only begin on November 7, 2022.

The watch was created in honor of the superhero film Shin Ultraman, which is due out on May 13 after a long delay caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. On the back of the watch is the logo of the Defense Forces, as well as the unique serial number of this watch.

This is a smart watch that has corresponding functions. The Sony Wena 3 Ultraman Edition can be paired with a smartphone to alert you to various notifications and calls. They also come with a variety of health monitoring features and have built-in NFC to enable contactless payments.

As for battery life, the watch has a built-in battery that will allow it to show the time for up to three years without recharging. However, the module responsible for motion control and NFC needs to be charged every day.

A growing body of data points to Samsung launching the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro smartwatch this year. True, they may be called differently in the end, but this does not change the essence of the matter.

According to the Ice Universe insider, such a model will differ from the usual one, including a titanium case and sapphire crystal. In addition, we recall that this model will have a much more capacious battery.

As a result, we have at least a more premium and standalone device, but it is not yet clear whether the list of features will be limited to this. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will replace the Watch Classic, with the new watch apparently only available in one size.

Bloomberg talks about iOS 16 and Apple Watch non invasive blood

Editor Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has published new information about the iOS 16 operating system, which is due to be announced at Apple’s WWDC developer conference. The event will begin on June 6 this year.

A Bloomberg writer was asked which of Apple’s operating systems he thought would get the most attention at WWDC, and he replied: “As usual, it will probably be iOS. In this case, iOS 16.” Gurman added that he doesn’t expect a “complete redesign” of the operating system, but expects to see what he calls “new ways to interact.” The update, he said, will include “fresh Apple apps.” Gurman said last month that he expects iOS 16 to bring a new updated notification system and new health tracking capabilities.

Earlier leaks have revealed a new “mega-widget” supposedly known internally as InfoShack. This will allow iOS users to create custom widgets. As for watchOS 9, a Bloomberg writer previously mentioned that the blood pressure sensor won’t appear on the Apple Watch until 2024 at the earliest, with users able to get a low power mode and improved scanning for atrial fibrillation (AFib).

There were rumors that a non-invasive blood glucose sensor would appear in the watch. This would save millions of insulin dependent Americans the pain and expense of donating blood before every meal. Currently, this is done by applying a drop of blood to an expensive disposable test strip to obtain a reading of a diabetic’s blood glucose levels. These readings are used to determine the dose of insulin that a diabetic should inject before eating.

However, there are many problems associated with creating such a sensor, and Mark Gurman does not expect Apple to be able to implement such a feature in its watches within a few years.

The latest Google Pixel Watch smartwatch may get the Samsung

Google officially announced the Pixel Watch a few days ago, but did not reveal technical details. A full-fledged premiere of the novelty and the start of sales are expected in the fall, but there is already a rumor that the Pixel Watch will receive a very old platform.

Unnamed sources say that the Pixel Watch is based on the 10-nanometer Samsung Exynos 9110 single-chip system, released in August 2018. And even there is an explanation why it happened. Google reportedly started work on the Pixel Watch a few years ago with Android 9. At that time, the Exynos 9110 was still quite a modern platform. The transition to a more recent SoC would have entailed a delay in the development and start of sales, so the company apparently preferred to leave the starting platform.

The Exynos 9110 has been pretty heavily used in Samsung wearables. So, it was the basis of the original Galaxy Watch, released in the third quarter of 2018, and then used in the Galaxy Watch Active and Active 2, as well as the 2020 model Galaxy Watch 3. It should also be noted that Google is not chasing performance. For example, the SoC Tensor in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is inferior in performance to the top platforms of Qualcomm and MediaTek, but this does not bother Google.
