Three CPU architectures, three GPU architectures, four manufacturing processes and up to 16 cores. AMD introduced mobile Ryzen 7000
AMD has introduced many new products, including the new Ryzen 7000 mobile processors.
Five lines were announced, and if earlier the division was by TDP, now AMD has revised the approach.
As you can see on the slide, we are talking about series with different architectures. AMD continues to use the Zen 3 and even Zen 2 architecture, although the newest models, of course, rely on Zen 4, and the graphics part can also be represented by three generations of GPUs at once: Vega, RDNA 2 and RDNA 3. The company uses four technical processes, starting from 7 nm and ending with the most modern 4 nm!
Separately, it is worth highlighting, of course, the older Ryzen 7045. Although they have iGPUs with only 128 stream processors on the RDNA 2 architecture, they offer up to 16 processor cores! In fact, we are talking about moving the desktop Ryzen 7000 to the mobile segment, and this is impressive. As you can see on the slide, these are physically the same desktop CPUs in chiplet design. By the way, for the first time on the market. Given the announcement of Intel’s Raptor Lake-HX, 2023 is going to be a very interesting year in terms of laptop CPU competition.
The main line of energy-efficient APUs will be Ryzen 7040. Here is the latest 4 nm process technology, and the newest Zen 4 and RDNA 3 architectures. For top-end processors, the graphics core will have 768 stream processors, like the Radeon 680M, but on a new architecture. That is, they will offer even more impressive performance in the mobile segment.
Notebooks with new AMD processors will start appearing on sale in February.

Are Intel Arc graphics cards going to be the best value for money now? The company claims to have increased productivity by up to 87%

Intel has released a fresh graphics driver for Arc video cards, which, as the company itself promises, will increase performance by some incredible values.
Of course, not everywhere, but Intel says that in Full HD performance will increase by up to 77%, in 1440p by 87%, and the average increase for older games with DirectX 9, which Arc cards initially had problems with, should increase by 43%. All these figures are valid for the Arc A750, which Intel has just reduced the price to $250.
The growth that Intel promises is really impressive. Under these conditions, the $250 Arc A750 should be the best-value graphics card in the class, as it competes on price with the GeForce RTX 3050 and Radeon RX 6600, which it could previously beat. However, it is better to wait for various tests and evaluate whether such an impressive performance increase really takes place.

How gigantic will these Intel processors be? A comparative photo of LGA7529 and LGA4677 sockets has appeared

We have already seen photos of the LGA7529 socket for the new Intel Xeon server processors, and now it’s time to understand how huge the CPUs themselves will be.
In the comparison photo, you can see the LGA4677 socket for the recently released Sapphire Rapids processors and the much larger LGA7529 for the upcoming Granite Rapids and Sierra Forest CPUs.
According to preliminary calculations, the dimensions of the new CPUs will be about 105 x 70.5 mm, that is, they will be about 70% larger than the current generation, which is rather big in itself. For comparison, the dimensions of the monstrous Epyc Genoa are approximately 72 x 75.4 mm. It is quite possible that the new Intel processors will be the largest on the market at the time of release.
The LGA7529 (Birch Stream-AP) platform is expected next year. As part of the platform, Intel is going to release two lines of completely different processors. The first will be Granite Rapids, which will reportedly contain up to 128 large Redwood Cove + cores, and the second will be Sierra Forest, which will have all small cores, but there will be either 344 or even 528 of them.

AMOLED 3K 120Hz screen, 13th generation Intel Core processors and weight from 1.17kg. Galaxy Book3 Pro Notebooks Introduced

Together with the flagship Galaxy Book3 Ultra laptop, Samsung today introduced simpler and cheaper mobile computers: the Galaxy Book3 Pro (in two versions with 14-inch and 16-inch screens), as well as the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 (16-inch). The display is the highlight of these models: they all received an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and a frame rate of 48-120 Hz.
Laptops are equipped with 13th generation Intel Core processors: in the base – Core i5-1340P, in the top version – Core i7-1360P. The amount of RAM DDR5 can be 8, 16 or 32 GB, the amount of SSD – 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB.
All models feature four speakers (two 2W tweeters and two 5W woofers), two microphones, a webcam with Full HD video streaming, a microSD card slot, a USB-A port, a pair of USB-C with Thunderbolt and HDMI video output.
The battery capacity of the 14-inch model is 63 W, the 16-inch model is 76 W. The thickness and weight of the 14-inch Galaxy Book3 Pro is 11.3 mm and 1.17 kg, the 16-inch 12.5 mm and 1.56 kg.
The dimensions and weight of the regular version of the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 are 12.8 mm and 1.66 kg. The 5G version has the same thickness, but the weight is slightly larger – 1.71 kg. The Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 comes with a branded S Pen stylus.
The novelties will go on sale in Europe on February 17th. The base Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 with Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD and no 5G support is priced at €1,800. The top variant (Core i7, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, 5G) is priced at 2,700 euros. For Galaxy Book3 Pro they ask from 1700 to 2200 euros, depending on the model.
