The premiere of the Nothing Phone (1) smartphone from the founder of OnePlus will soon take place, but the Network already has details about both the characteristics and the price. Their combination suggests that Nothing Phone (1) will be one of the most overpriced mid-range models.
For the basic Nothing Phone (1), with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, they will ask 470 euros in Europe. The 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB variants are priced at €500 and €550, respectively. At the same time, Nothing Phone (1) will not offer anything particularly outstanding in terms of characteristics: SoC Snapdragon 778G Plus, a 50-megapixel camera and an OLED screen are in much more affordable models. Moreover, the Google Pixel 6 is now in the same price range – it can be purchased in Europe for 500-550 euros. Isn’t Karl Pei asking a lot for a model that differs from most in a transparent cover and a couple of dozen LEDs placed under it?
8.02-inch 2K AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, 50-megapixel Lecia camera and MIUI Fold 13. Xiaomi Fold 2 foldable smartphone unveiled
Yesterday, Samsung introduced its flagship smartphone Galaxy Z Fold 4, and today its competitor appeared at Xiaomi – the company introduced Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.
In the novelty, the focus is on compactness: Mix Fold 2 received completely new hinges, which made it possible to significantly reduce the thickness of the device. As a result, Mix Fold 2 when unfolded is only a little thicker than a regular USB-C port. The thickness when unfolded is 5.4 mm, when folded it is only 11.4 mm. The weight of the smartphone is 262 grams.
Eco indoor display2 OLED Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 with a diagonal of 8.02 inches and a resolution of 2K. The essence of Eco2 OLED technology is to eliminate one layer, thereby increasing brightness and improving color reproduction. The display is made using LTPO technology and supports automatic frame rate adjustment in a wide range from 1 to 120 Hz. Protection is provided by a new generation ultra-thin protective glass with a thickness of 0.03 mm.
The outdoor display is a 6.56-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution. The maximum frame rate here is also 120 Hz. Both screens support automatic color temperature adjustment based on lighting conditions.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 received stereo speakers. The battery capacity was 4500 mAh, it supports 67 W wired charging.
The smartphone, as befits a flagship, is built on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 single-chip platform, connected to LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash memory.
The main camera of the Mix Fold 2 was created in collaboration with Lecia. It is represented by three modules. It mainly uses a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, a wide-angle lens and an optical stabilization system. There is also a module with a 13-megapixel sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens with 15 mm EGF and a module with an 8-megapixel sensor and a telephoto lens. The front camera is 20 megapixel.
Interestingly, the MIUI skin for the Mix Fold 2 is called MIUI Fold 13, reflecting the work done by the developers to optimize apps and software features for the large indoor screen.
Pricing has already been announced: 12GB/256GB $1335, 12GB/512GB $1485, 12GB/1TB $1780. Thus, the Mix Fold 2 turned out to be much cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
Moto X30 Pro unveiled, the world’s first smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. And it turned out to be quite inexpensive.
An important event in the smartphone industry took place today – the world’s first mass-produced model with a 200-megapixel camera was introduced. Such is the Moto X30 Pro: lately, Moto often surpasses Xiaomi and becomes the “first in the world” when it comes to using the latest single-chip systems or image sensors.
The sensor in question is a Samsung HP1. During the presentation, they noted that work on the Moto X30 Pro was carried out by Lenovo and Samsung specialists together. The optical format of Samsung HP1 is 1/1.22 inches. The developers emphasize that such a sensor at a higher resolution is larger than the main sensor in the iPhone 13 Pro (1 / 1.68 inches). Moreover, the Samsung HP1 is larger than the 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 (1/1.28 inch) sensor in the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
The module with a 200-megapixel sensor has a wide-angle lens, there is also an optical image stabilization system. The second module has a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 sensor paired with an ultra wide-angle lens with a 117° field of view, and the third module has a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor and a portrait lens (due to which it provides a 2x optical zoom, it is also used for macro shooting ). The embedded front-facing camera is also notable, using a 60-megapixel image sensor.
Moto X30 Pro is built on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 single-chip platform. It received a large cooling system with an area of 19,400 mm2LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1.
The curved OLED screen is characterized by a diagonal of 6.67 inches, Full HD + resolution, 144 Hz frame rate and coverage of 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. The fingerprint scanner is under the screen.
Moto X30 Pro received a 4610 mAh battery with support for 125 W fast charging (full battery charge in 19 minutes). It also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The configuration of the smartphone also includes stereo speakers and an NFC chip. The thickness of the device is 8.39 mm, weight is 197 grams.
The Moto X30 Pro turned out to be inexpensive for the “first 200-megapixel”: the cost of the basic version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory was only $520. Other options are with 12/256GB for $595 and 12/512GB for $640.
“This is really extortion of money,” users are outraged, and resellers, on the contrary, are satisfied with the upcoming price increase for the iPhone
After the appearance of information that Apple will raise the prices of smartphones on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones, users on social networks began to resent.
Here are just some quotes from the Weibo social network that the source published:
- They keep getting more expensive whether you want to buy them or not.
- This is really extortion
- Cook seems to feel like everyone is short on money and wants everyone to save more money.
However, for those who are engaged in the resale of smartphones during the first days and weeks, this information did not become bad. On the contrary, one of the speculators in an interview with a Chinese publication said that he was looking forward to the release of the iPhone 14.
“The next step is to wait for the release of the iPhone 14 in September. The best time to make money in a year is about to come,” he said, adding that last year he made more than $44,000 in two months reselling the iPhone 13.
As we reported earlier, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the average price of Pro/Pro Max models will increase by 15%.
