This is how the first smart watch with a built-in tonometer and an ECG recording function looks like. Huawei Watch D posing for live photos

Yesterday, live photos of the box of a completely new smart watch Huawei Watch D appeared on the Web, and now the device is posing live on the user’s hand. Recall that this watch is not focused on sports (although training regimes and related functions are provided), but on monitoring vital indicators – heart rate, blood oxygenation, blood pressure. This is indicated even by the dedicated physical Health key. The second key is called Home and has the standard functionality for returning to the main menu.

The built-in tonometer is the highlight of Watch D. According to the source, the device even has a built-in cuff, like in a conventional manual or automatic tonometer. Apparently, its function is performed by a strap. But the Huawei Watch D also lets you record ECGs! So in terms of monitoring vital signs, this watch is the most functional in the world. By the way, Huawei has official permission to use the tonometer function, obtained on the basis of clinical trials conducted in China.

Smart watches Google Pixel Watch can surprise you with the

Google announced the smart watch ten days ago, but kept silent about the technical characteristics of the novelty. Therefore, details about the device have to be collected bit by bit. A previous leak said the watch would get Samsung’s rather old Exynos 9110 SoC, but the new data is encouraging: the Pixel Watch may have a fresher SoC.

Smart watches Google Pixel Watch can surprise you with the amount of memory: there will be more flash memory than in some smartphones

This scheme is not new, it has already been tested in a number of other wearable devices: a low-power SoC ensures that the device works for a long time with basic capabilities, and when all functions are supposed to be used to the maximum, a more powerful (and obviously more modern) hardware system is involved.

But even this is not interesting: Pixel Watch is credited with a lot of flash memory – as much as 32 GB. Such a volume for applications is clearly redundant, so it is suggested that Google will focus on the ability to download and store a large amount of music right on the watch. Which is good for sports. However, it will be possible to store podcasts right in the watch, for example. The amount of RAM will be “slightly more than the Galaxy Watch 4”. Samsung smartwatches have 1.5 GB of RAM, so it’s logical to assume 2 GB of RAM in Pixel Watch.

Finally, the Pixel Watch is said to be sensor-similar to the Fitbit Charge 5. This means that Google’s new product will provide the same vitals tracking capabilities. At a minimum, you can count on the monitoring of heart rate and SpO2, as a maximum – on the possibility of recording an ECG.

This concludes the new batch of details about the Google Pixel Watch. Recall that the novelty will go on sale in the fall.

In the home market, the novelty costs about $64. One of its distinguishing features is the presence of a microphone and speaker, so when paired with a smartphone, you can make and receive calls directly from the watch. Moreover, the list of software includes a dialer, so you can not use your smartphone to make a call at all.
